The only reason I used it was once you had tromped Diablo in single player umpteen times, it got really boring (then the only "fun" was entering a new game and loading if you didn't like the junk in the shop). So, I'd use the character backup to play it in single player "lan mode" so I could play on a higher level of difficulty. (At least the good thing about the "hellfire" add on was you could play normally in single player mode on a harder level, so I could continue my original character for a while.) Still, it got old after a while. -Q- </PRE> <!--X-Body-of-Message-End--> <!--X-MsgBody-End--> <!--X-Follow-Ups--> <HR> <!--X-Follow-Ups-End--> <!--X-References--> <!--X-References-End--> <!--X-BotPNI--> <UL> <LI>Prev by Date: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00292.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: Bruce Sterling on Virtual Community goals</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Next by Date: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00294.html">[MUD-Dev] PDMud (was Re: Bruce Sterling on Virtual Community goals)</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Prev by thread: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00382.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: evil - good realism</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Next by thread: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00283.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: Trusting the Client (Re: Laws of Online World D esign)</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Index(es): <UL> <LI><A HREF="index.html#00293"><STRONG>Date</STRONG></A></LI> <LI><A HREF="thread.html#00293"><STRONG>Thread</STRONG></A></LI> </UL> </LI> </UL> <!--X-BotPNI-End--> <!--X-User-Footer--> <!--X-User-Footer-End--> <ul><li>Thread context: <BLOCKQUOTE><UL> <LI><STRONG>[MUD-Dev] Re: evil - good realism</STRONG>, <EM>(continued)</EM> <ul compact> <LI><strong><A NAME="00326" HREF="msg00326.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: evil - good realism</A></strong>, J C Lawrence <a href="mailto:claw#under,engr.sgi.com">claw#under,engr.sgi.com</a>, Thu 22 Oct 1998, 01:12 GMT </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00343" HREF="msg00343.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: evil - good realism</A></strong>, Brandon A Downey <a href="mailto:badowney#sprynet,com">badowney#sprynet,com</a>, Thu 22 Oct 1998, 08:28 GMT <UL> <LI><strong><A NAME="00350" HREF="msg00350.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: evil - good realism</A></strong>, Vladimir Prelovac <a href="mailto:tomcat#galeb,etf.bg.ac.yu">tomcat#galeb,etf.bg.ac.yu</a>, Thu 22 Oct 1998, 13:17 GMT </LI> </UL> </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00382" HREF="msg00382.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: evil - good realism</A></strong>, Vadim Tkachenko <a href="mailto:vt#freehold,crocodile.org">vt#freehold,crocodile.org</a>, Fri 23 Oct 1998, 04:00 GMT </LI> </ul> </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00293" HREF="msg00293.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: Hacks/Diablo/etc (was: Re: [MUD-Dev] Re: Trusting the Client (Re: Laws of Online World D esign))</A></strong>, quzah [sotfhome] <a href="mailto:quzah#softhome,net">quzah#softhome,net</a>, Wed 21 Oct 1998, 07:13 GMT <LI><strong><A NAME="00283" HREF="msg00283.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: Trusting the Client (Re: Laws of Online World D esign)</A></strong>, Koster, Raph <a href="mailto:rkoster#origin,ea.com">rkoster#origin,ea.com</a>, Wed 21 Oct 1998, 02:15 GMT <UL> <LI><strong><A NAME="00334" HREF="msg00334.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: Trusting the Client (Re: Laws of Online World D esign)</A></strong>, J C Lawrence <a href="mailto:claw#under,engr.sgi.com">claw#under,engr.sgi.com</a>, Thu 22 Oct 1998, 03:23 GMT </LI> </UL> </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00282" HREF="msg00282.html">[MUD-Dev] Lengthy Palace study</A></strong>, Koster, Raph <a href="mailto:rkoster#origin,ea.com">rkoster#origin,ea.com</a>, Wed 21 Oct 1998, 02:13 GMT <LI><strong><A NAME="00271" HREF="msg00271.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: Trusting the Client (Re: Laws of Online World D esign)</A></strong>, Koster, Raph <a href="mailto:rkoster#origin,ea.com">rkoster#origin,ea.com</a>, Tue 20 Oct 1998, 15:04 GMT </LI> </UL></BLOCKQUOTE> </ul> <hr> <center> [ <a href="../">Other Periods</a> | <a href="../../">Other mailing lists</a> | <a href="/search.php3">Search</a> ] </center> <hr> </body> </html>
