It sure looks that way. I'm sure having super accurate timezones and DST info would be nifty, but it's not really needed.

Related to this subject, does anyone happen to know if the /usr/share/zoneinfo directory is a standard location for timezone data on linux and BSD systems? I already know this isn't the case with Windows, but who cares about Windows, right? :P

and sorry samson, i'm of no help with this, i don't even have zoneinfo directory in suse10.1 (which is my dev box) so i don't think it is a standard thing.

No idea whether it's a standard or not, but that's where the zoneinfo directory is on my FC3 box.
