I tried halt or something similar, and auto-suspended when I tried to log into the root account.

Wait… are you trying to shut down your MUD or the whole server? If you want to shut down the MUD, you need to be logged in to the MUD first.

I suppose as a last resort, you could always log into the shell and type PS -a then when you see your mordor mud on the list, type kill -9 <pid of the mud>.

Does seem that way.. :lol:
I'm a noob and just set up a Mordor Mud on a free hosting service. I'd like to stop it to make changes etc, but I can't find anywhere what command I use.
I have other databases I'm testing, and so I need to be able to stop the service and try others, till I find one I'm comfortable with.
Also, are ther any tutorials on using the Mordor editor?
