You can gain spells or skills at your guildmaster once you have enough
trains to do so.  Type "help gain" for more information.  When you are at
your guildmaster, type "gain list" to see the skills or spells available to
you.  Warriors and thieves cannot gain or use spells until they reach level
75.

One of the most important and useful features of ET is that you can
customize your character.  Customization means that you can select skills or
spells specifically for what you need and want for your character.  Do you
remember what you have?  Type "info" to see what groups of skills or spells
you have.  Typing "info" then the name of a specific group will show you all
the skills or spells in that group.  You can gain skills and spells later in
the game, so if you stocked up when you created your character, you really
should reconsider.  When you type "info", you will see how many creation
points (CP) you have.  If the # is above 55, you probably should recreate. 
Reason being, the more CP you have, the more experience it takes to level. 
If you want to level and not have too much trouble, keep your creation
points between 40 and 55.  Type "help premise" for more information.

First things first, type 'auto' to get a list of the automatic features
of ET.  For newbies, typing 'autoexit', 'autogold', 'autoloot', and
'autosac' should help immensely.  Next, typing 'title', followed by a short
string will allow you to edit your title on the WHO list, vary it to your
liking.  Other things of interest to new players might include the help
files on prompt, the wizlist for Immortal assistance, and WHO list by typing
WHO for assistance from other players.  When in doubt, ASK SOMEBODY.

Armor and weapons have undergone a little change here on ET.  Now people
can wear armor and wield weapons that are up to 5 levels higher than they
are.  For now, however, the sub issue equipment issued to you and found in
MUD school should suffice.  Later, as you explore outside of GreyHaven,
other weapons and armor can be found.  But not all may be as good as what
you currently possess.  Typing COMPARE [item] will compare an item in your
inventory to a similar item being worn by you.

Type 'score' to go to your score screen.  Hitroll is the number used in
addition to other factors to determine whether or not you make contact in
combat.  When contact is achieved, your damage roll is used in determining
how much damage is actually done.  The higher these numbers, the better.

Money on Thera is in the form of gold and silver pieces.  Typing worth
will let you see how much of it you have.  Money can be earned in three
ways, 1) by killing the various mobs, or creatures, of Thera, 2) by
sacrificing the corpses of mobs when dead, a nd 3) by selling your excessive
equipment.  Remember that money has weight, too, and that banks are provided
when your pockets become too heavy so you can deposit excessive gold and
silver.

Clans are now a necessary addition to ET.  All players are required to be
in one, as you saw on the creation screen.  Clans allow players to pkill, or
to kill other players, but it also allows private clan halls to heal, the
companionship of fellow clan members, and certain other priviledges only
given to members in clans other then loners.  Type "help clan" for more
information on clans.  
 
Another really important addition to ET is the morgue.  Your clan hall 
should have an entry point (a portal or an exit) into the morgue, where
you will get all your items from your corpse when you die.  The specific
location of the morgue is under the church of Mota in Greyhaven, 
directly below the temple cleric's room.
