Desc The little grass that exists here has been trampled down by the feet of many
men and horses. It appears as if a large group of people moved through here
recently. The path is a muddy brown scar on the otherwise plain landscape of
the windswept plain. To the east the path continues, growing wider where
apparently more people began to tread on it, while to the west it abruptly
vanishes completely.

Desc The rolling, windswept plains are marred here by a freshly made path. It
apparently was trampled down by a force of many men and horses, who
appeared to be heading east. The path is very wide, and quite muddy from
the churning hooves of many horses. A smaller path leads north from this
one, while to the east the path begins to enter the rising foothills. The
path also leads back west, where it begins to grow smaller.

Desc You enter this small dip in the smooth landscape and are immediately
greeted by the overwhelming stench of blood and rotting flesh. The leaves
of small, twisted trees and the hearty shoots of prairie grass are covered
with bits of flesh and drying blood. It looks as if not only was a battle
fought here, but the losers torn limb from limb by the victors. A small
path leads southward, away from this horrible scene.

Name Entering a Large Canyon~
Desc The northeastern foothills begin to rise steeply here, putting an abrupt
end to the plains. A large canyon also begins to open up between two
craggy hills here, and a wide, trampled path leads east in to it. Next to
the path a stake has been placed in the ground, topped by the rotting head
of a dead elf. Something has been hastily scrawled on the smooth face
of a craggy rock that thrusts from the ground next to the stake. You can
see many plumes of smoke rising from within the canyon, and the hoarse
cries of men and the neighs of horses. To the west the path descends back
to the plains.

Desc You find yourself within the narrow walls of a large canyon. Just beyond
where you are presently located it seems the walls open up a great deal,
but at this location they are very narrow. This point would be very easily
defendable by any force that decided to camp within. You can hear the
sounds, and smell the smells, of many men located within; perhaps you are
not the first to realize the defensive value of this place.

Desc You find yourself within a large campsite set within an easily defensible
canyon. Many tents are set up all around you, and it appears that
thousands of men could easily stay here- and probably do. Most of the
tents are white in color with banners of red and gold waving from their
tops. A path trampled through the grass in the base of the canyon leads
east further in to the camp and westward out of the camp. The tent to the
north serves as the stables, by the smell of things, while the large tent
to the south appears to be a barracks of sorts.

Desc This large, spacious tent appears to serve as a common sleeping area or
barracks for the force encamped here. Many bedrolls are laid out on the
ground, and a few enterprising souls have constructed rickety cots to
elevate themselves from the hard earth. The bedrolls are all neatly made
and laid out, and small packs of personal effects lie on each. To the
north and south the tent flaps have been propped up, letting the breeze in
and allowing you a way out.

Desc You stand in a large clearing in the forest of tents, which appears to be
the center of the camp. A large bonfire burns in the middle, which appears
to provide no practical purpose. To the east a large boulder rises from
the ground, and a small path snakes past the boulder towards several large
tents that are rather removed from the rest. To the north the path heads
to another group of tent that stand off from the main body of the camp, as
well as one building that appears to be a more permanent construction. To
the south a path winds through the main body of the camp.

served a practical purpose. You see several faintly humanoid forms lying

prisoners. The walls are merely canvas, but the stout fence encircling the
structure and the iron bands that bind the residents make this place as

excrement of the prisoners, and is covered by a few strands of moldy straw.

Name Shrine of Hafran~
Desc You are in a partially completed stone structure that looks as if it is
going to serve as some sort of temple. Half assembled pews rest on the
floor in front of a large altar that is the color of burnished gold. A
large golden disk hangs on the wall behind the altar. It has been placed
so as to catch the rays of the sun and reflect them into the eyes of those
who enter, and as such it is hard to study closely. To the south you can
exit this temple, while to the west a small passageway leads further into
the shrine.

The copper has been engraved in several places, showing scenes of elves,

Desc This small path leads eastward from the large bonfire, past a large boulder
and towards a collection of tents that has been set off to the east. The
path does not look traveled as frequently as the others in the camp, and is
really more of an indentation in the tall grass than a path. To the north
you spy a small tent with a red and black standard haning in front of it,
and to the south lies a tent with a gold and black standard in front. To
the east is a heavily guarded large tent.

Desc This tent, which seemed so large from the outside, seems even larger on the
inside due to the spare furnishings that may be found within. The floor is
bare dirt, except for a small rug near the utilitarian cot near the north
wall. On the south wall several leather cords hang, and from each one the
dried and rotting ears of non-human victims hang. There must be thousands
in all, some barely recognisable they are so old. The only exit from this
room appears to be the way you came in.

Desc This path leads southward from a large clearing with a bonfire to the
north. It is very wide already, due to the large amount of traffic it
apparently receives. The main collection of tents lies to the south, while

barracks tents.

Desc This huge tent contains several trestle tables, and many open cooking
fires, where those soldiers who have the duty for the day cook the meals.
Right now it appears there is no meal going on, for no soldiers are
present. Over the fires several spits of meat roast, and a few pots of
stew have been left to simmer. To the east the tent flap has been left
open and you can spy a small, crystal clear lake. To the west the open
tent flap leads out to the wide path through the camp.

Desc This small, clear little lake is apparently serving as a water supply and
bathing area for the soldiers. Several are in here now, splashing and
lathering soap over themselves. A small stream leads from the lake towards
the south, while it is unclear where the water in this lake comes from.
The only real exit from this place is back into the mess tent to the west.
While the top of the water is very clear, it gets very dark and murky
towards the bottom, and it is hard to tell what is down there.

down hundreds of meters, because the water is so clear only a great depth

Desc This tent contains many of the supplies for the army, things they cannot
find easily on their route. Many crates, bags, and boxes are stacked here
in neat rows. Towards the back of the tent a small forge has been set up,
allowing the soldiers to repair their weapons and armor should they become
damaged. The only exit from this tent appears to be back to the west.

Desc The inside of this red tent is even stranger than the outside. The
temperature in here is almost unbearable. You break out in a sweat almost
as soon as you enter. The reason seems to be the numerous braziers of
coals placed about the room, as well as a roaring fire that has been built
in the center of the tent. Around the fire, very close to it in fact,
several red-colored bedrolls have been laid. Whoever sleeps in here must be
mad.

though they don't look like they have been slept on in a while. A small
table in the center of the room contains a few parchment pages tacked down
by a small knife.

Desc The air in this tent almost knocks you off your feet as you enter, it is so
cold. You cannot seem to tell where this chill is coming from, but it
makes this tent colder than the highest mountain peaks in the dead of

they could even keep you warm on a cool summer night, let alone in here.
Whoever sleeps in this tent must be mad.

Desc You find yourself on a wide path that leads through the camp here. It is
wide and muddy from constant traffic, but it appears someone has taken the
time to spread gravel on it, to help with the problem. The path heads
northward; to the south it ends abruptly as the large cliff wall rises
steeply. To the west the wall of the cliff rises as well. To the east the
cliff wall is a little farther back and a yellow tent has been set between
it and the path.

Desc As you enter this tent you begin to feel a tingling sensation and you
notice that your hair is standing up on it's ends. The air in here seems
to be supercharged with some sort of electricity, much as if a lightning
bolt was about to strike. Indeed, there does seem to be some sort of
lightning in here, as two iron poles set up in the back of the room
occasionally flash a miniaturized bolt of the substance between each other.
A few bedrolls lie on the floor here. Whoever would sleep in such an
obviously dangerous place must be insane.
