For anyone who is interested in linking to the site, we'd like to ask a small favor when doing so. Link to http://www.mudbytes.net directly. Don't link to a specific page like index.php or any of the other subpages. It has a tendency to cause Google to rank it differently and we'd like to optimize our SEO performance as much as possible :)
Along these lines, Samson, do we have a MudBytes logo or banner or some such yet that could be included in such a link?
And, how does one become an affiliate?
Inquiring minds want to know! ;)

Although it currently hasn't taken affect (I need the server admin to move some files for me) I have the site linked. Will do whatever I can to draw attention to it.
Another thing to be very careful of now, be sure you're linking to the .net domain and not .com or .org, seems some pathetic domain squatter decided to park themselves on those versions. Lesson to learn here: Always follow your gut when registering and pay for .com/net/org when launching a new site. Some jackass will be waiting to screw you over if you don't.
And further, it would be adviseable to never register domains with GoDaddy as they seem to be where these kinds of scum hang out.
I'll be sure to keep that advice in mind, Samson. Anyway, the instant I've got a site up, you can count on me linking to MudBytes.

Oops, good thing you pointed out the .com .net thing :p
Fixed.
I've never had any domain problems like that, having someone go and register stuff like that immediately. It is annoying. But then again, I've never registered anything through godaddy… I've always used:
I don't use Godaddy. I use registerfly.com and ordinarily don't have this problem. I'm not sure exactly how the squatters decided it was worth their time, but it took them until June 5 to actually do it. So I had plenty of time to stop it. I just didn't bother. But people should not have to defend their domains from things like this. And registrars should not be actively helping them get away with it by providing parking space.
Indeed, thanks for the html for that, for now I've added it to the very bottom of my mud's web page, but eventually I'll make a section for non-voting links and move it… unless we get a mud list with voting/ranking here.. then I've already got a spot it'll fit in very nicely. ;)

Ok, added to my forums too. :)

Hmm, I might put a MudBytes.net reference in my signature on some other forums as well to try to help generate awareness.
I know of someone who, already, had put it in their MudMagic sig and had it removed sometime afterwards.
Actually, it wasn't some time afterwards. I checked back five seconds later and my signiature was completely wiped. So I put it back with a line that reads: "Parental Advisory! Links may contain content not suitable for Kyndig."
Mmmhm. I'd had a link to MudBytes in my sig, and he wiped it. I replaced the sig, and he wiped it again. So I finally got fed up, and changed the sig to:
Parental Advisory! Links may contain content not suitable for Kyndig. MudBytes Code Repository: http://www.mudbytes.net End of Time: eotmud.com:4000, Final Fantasy themed, seeking builders!
You can see why I'm banned. Heh, it was so worth it.

I wasn't going to name names :p
But yeah, that's not surprising. Oh well, it's his loss.
