Maybe I've missed some of the discussion about the changes to the front page recently, but I find it hard to accept this as desired functionality. Of the twenty or so recent posts on the front page, less than half are unique. The most commonly duplicated at the moment are Xrakisis and Thaolen with "loading mobiles from an array", and "(nakedmud) Moving Mobs", respectively. It is irritating enough that I stopped paying attention to the front page so I would like to know what to do to fix it.

It was better as "recent threads" not the current "recent posts".

I just wanted more threads listed.

You wouldn't be the first to complain about it, that's for sure. I've suggested that an ability to toggle showing edits/code uploads/etc would mitigate things while maintaining that verbosity for the strange, strange people who prefer it.

I don't even use the front page anymore, I set all my bookmarks to point to the recent posts list itself: http://www.mudbytes.net/index.php?a=rece...

Unless you're logged in you only get one page on that…and there are so many sticky topics that you only get a 7-topic list.

What? It switched to recent posts? That is ridiculous! Who in the world wanted THAT?

This is a result of edits showing up on the front page, which probably shouldn't be duplicated by a new post in the same thread. It's not concise, which makes pulling up all the recent threads somewhat inconvenient.

Edit: And as if to illustrate my point, when I pulled this thread up a second ago, it pulled up a cache that had had no replies in this thread, so several posts magically appeared after I hit submit. Whee!
