Just wondering if anyone has used websockify. I noticed that, by default it comes with a telnet client. It seems promising as its encrypted and flexible. It does require you to run a server to translate WebSocket <-> TCP. I think it's a small price to pay for every MUD being able to talk with a web browser.

It looks like it would do a similar thing to Phudbase-webmud. I'm not sure why that didn't really catch on as it seems like a neat idea. I believe IRE use code from both websockify and phudbase in their latest web client.

IIRC Stendec wrote a proxy for the Decaf client as well, you can probably find it through github.

Orrin's got one started here:
Naked Mud with Websockify connection

It's really got potential. I'm working on setting up one for my own game and I'll keep you all posted how it goes.

Thanks Orrin!

I could become interested in something like this. I've been working on a project with the nakedmud codebase. Though I haven't really done all that much with web applications.
