It seems that every other game site and pundit has their predictions for 2010, so what do we all think the coming year will bring for the MUD community?

Lyanic's Top 10 Predictions (MB specific):
______________________________________________________________
1. Arguments about protocols (IMC3 seems likely)
2. Arguments about horrible promo posts
3. Arguments about religion
4. Arguments about evolution
5. Arguments about politics
6. Arguments about forum admins/moderators' questionable actions
7. Arguments about inappropriate content in posts
8. Arguments about arguments
9. A brief reappearance of HEG3, with brand new claims of ludicrousness
10. Very little pertaining to actual MUDs

Edit: Crat did already sum up my list in one word. This is just for people who wanted the extended version.

Speaking of that, I read that the "kinky tail sex" shown on the big screen was only about 1/10th of the scene, but the full thing is going to be viewable on the DVD/Bluray release. I guess that means those future Avatar MUD developers will have plenty of source material to base their content on. :stare:

This year, a DBZ mud will be opened with an ANSI title screen that features 9001 ESC characters.

This year I will add more formats to my AreaConvert tool and possibly figure out how to proceed with integrating some scripting language to my base :)

This year I will release a very easy to use Lua interface for MERC based muds for scripting. I might even
make the needed changes so it can be adapted to other bases.

This year I will be opening my MUD. (And start actually developing it.)

…And quite possibly contributing to the drama stated above. :)

And in other news today, a 68 year old grandmother was killed in a nineteen car pileup on the New Jersey turnpike. Investigators say she may have been mudding on the way to the bingo hall and swerved out of control and ran off the road after being pkilled.

Any publicity is good publicity.
