Hello and thank you for looking at this. My appartment complex provides internet and wont let me get my own net. Trying to connect to a mud with gmud and its saying no multiplaying….a friend of mine lives downstairs and were trying to connect to the same mud is there anyway this can be done?

You can always use a proxy telnet server or in a pinch, a java or otherwise web-based telnet client hosted on a server somewhere.
The MUD admins may be willing to add an exception for multiplaying on LANs if you don't abuse it.

Worst case scenario, you can always challenge your friend to a duel. If you can take his head, you will receive his IP address. The highlander rules apply to networking, right?

THAT is why your MUD admin is misguided by using IP addresses as a way to detect multiplaying. Tell them to look up NAT and learn how networking actually works these days.
