House of Ghouls is a fantasy-style MUD. Our realm is 99% unique. We offer 23 different races, each with their own pros and cons. We have 12 classes to choose from which can be combined into true dual-class or left as a single class that is able to tier into a more powerful class once it has reached avatarhood. Our equipment is generated from stock items as well as randomly created items and have no level restrictions. We offer various types of automated quests, each with their own rewards. Players are catagorized into deadlies (PKers) and non-deadlies. Many of our classes and races are unique to House of Ghouls. We are constantly adding more things to do as our realm evolves.

Think of three major eras of the Star Wars story played out
throughout the course of a year, travel through Mandalore and see
the armies born on Kamino. See the rise of the usurper and the fall of
his rule, and the pheonix of peace born from the ashes of a dead sith
lord.

On LOTJ each planet can be governed by a major clan. The governing
body can set up a leader for the planet, who sets up his government.
Members of the greater clan can work as agents of the planetary
government, with their own channel so that they and their fellows can
collaborate.

We also offer our players the chance to take an idea, a concept, and
make a clan of their own. Our webpage offers an online method for
submitting applications, for things ranging from forcers to clans to
anything your creative mind can imagine that wouldn't be out of place
in SW.

Although our mud is a PKILL environment, we also have a very user-
friendly account system that lets our players garnish points from the
death of characters and then use those points to purchase levels for
new characters. This is done when someone is "permed", which is our
way of saying ultimately dead.

Players elect our main decision making body: the RolePlay Council
(RPC). When someone is "permed" and they believe proper RP/RULES
observations weren't made, or that some sort of foul play was at hand,
they turn to this elected group of seven individuals. They discuss it
amongst themselves and render judgement upon the situation, giving our
Player Representatives team the decision to render punishment if
required.

With a max players of 113 scored as of April 24, 2005 we offer a wide

Children of Aranythera is a newbie friend mud, just starting

The website is currently under construction, and should be ready within a week or so.
Legends of Old has just started and is currently needing builders and designers of areas. We are in beta stage and will most likely be that way for quite awhile. We are using a heavily modified SmaugFUSS 1.8 codebase that has many new features added into it.

My goal is to have a mud that has features from WoW and other muds that I have played/coded on in the past to create one epic mud that many can enjoy. Some features of our code:

Unique spell system (Discussing this at the moment whether we want mana or not)
- No mana
- Have to memorize spells

Quest chain system
- Like World of Warcraft, we have quest chains that can lead to other areas or other mobs within the area for rewards and money. If you log into the mud, you can check out the first 8 quests using the task system to test the powerful quest engine.

Socketed items
- As players progress through the game, they will gain socketed items that can enhance their items using gems.

We will eventually have instances of 5, 10, and maybe 25 man later on down the road. We will have nations/kingdoms against each other and hope to have a unique army system where players can donate to their kingdoms and gain army units for epic battles with other nations. Professions will be in game as well so players will be able to craft items, mine for minerals, and pick herbs for alchemy.

The mud itself will be fantasy medieval setting with your regular dnd classes (although the spells/skills will mostly be original). More classes will be made and unique spells will be made for each class as time goes on.

Our first few projects will focus on minor starting areas and then as we get those in we'll start to tackle the bigger areas eventually leading into creating the instance areas with tiered gear and such.

Since we will be in beta testing for a long time, as long as you make progress on your areas, there are no time constraints to your area. I know perfection takes time. Plus if you are new you will need time to gain the knowledge needed for progs and making your area come to life, so I do not want to put stipulations on time commitments. We have our everyday lives.

Amongst the population here one will find elves, dwarves, sprites, halflings, half-elves, nereids, and humans living in relative peace with svirfneblin, drow, lupine, tabaxi, and dragonkin to name just a few. These wonderous races have many different abilities amongst them, including magic, thievery, and weaponmastery.

Once living here and growing up, the populace has a chance to enter mystical orders and clans. These highly specialized groups tend to help others as well as themselves. They have individual quests as well as major tasks like ridding the world of dangerous beasties.

As adventurers explore the world, it seems to keep getting larger as new vistas are discovered frequently. While just recently discovered itself, the Valley continues to expand, to the horror of the poor Cartographer who must then go out and discover how to get to the new places so that the inexperienced do not get lost.
Rage of Vengeance is a PK mud, based upon the eternal struggle of Good vs Evil which have their own homelands, located on opposite sides of the map. Players are encouraged to get some levels and go out to seek the enemy. Some Features available on RoV include Our own code base Ragemud (99% modified SMAUG); Chores, Quests and Bounties available for when the pk-action is low; Very easy levelling for the first 35 levels and an Annual Playerwipe (Cycle) to give newer players a chance to start even and for experienced players to try something else. The Fifth wipe just started October 2008.
In the beginning there was darkness…

And then, with a booming clap of Thunder, a majestic city was born.
The city, named Prophecy by oracles from a distant land because of the
vision they witnessed upon its creation, would grow to be the crown
jewel of the region. But in its youth, Prophecy was ruled by Chaos,
Lust, and Fury.
The inhabitants of Prophecy were as varied as the stars in the
night sky. Men and women from every race, creed, and class, flocked to
the city in an attempt to fulfill the Prophecy. The Prophecy states
that one day, a mortal would arrive within the gates of the city and
after drawing incredible power from the land, ascent to godlike
status. The Prophecy states that the mortal, in their new infinite
wisdom, would rule along side the deities of the land and prosperity
would reign over the realm. But then darkness would consume the mortal
and they would rage a bloody war against the pantheon of the realm.
The Prophecy states that only after a long and bloody war would the
chosen one rise above the deities ruling the land and thus fulfill
the Prophecy.
Some choose the path of the murderer, hunting others and consuming
their life essence. Others decided to gain their glory through hunting
and slaying the many creatures that inhabit the furthest corners of
Prophecy. Over the years, much blood has been spilled as thousands of
worthy adventurers have inhabited Prophecy attempting to seize the
power that lies beneath her surface. Some historians claim the oracles
were mistaken and that the Prophecy is merely a hoax designed to fill
the city of Prophecy. But, my friends, I was there when they fled from
the city in madness because the power had eluded them. I, myself,
could taste the power on many occasions. But time has taken its toll
on me and I must abandon my quest to fulfill the Prophecy.

Based on the Dark Horse comic series' by the same name created by Ricardo Delgado, AoR enables a player to portray a Deinonychus character in the prehistoric world of Pangaea!
Back in the eighties, in Japan lived a now very famous man.
His name being Akira Toriyama. Toriyama San created some of
the most beloved and well recognized characters between East
and West. With the restart of the franchise in America,
there developed a simple Smaug game, and that is Dragonball
Saga. That was in 2000. Now, nine years later, the codebase
branched off and created many clones. Some private, some
public, all with their own little worlds. So, you ask, what
does this have to do with this game? This I would say, is
that despite the years, criticism, and power struggles, it
lives on and The Revolt is here.

The Revolt was created to bring forth the ideas of old and
new, and to form a community of players who would love to
play that game of yesteryear but with new skills, races, and
a constant flow of ideas. The skill system, not seen very
often in many clones, was developed by experienced coders and
to this day is still being built upon by the people who were
there since Day One. This skill tree allows for a free motion
of techniques for when you begin. Adding much flavor to the
game for veterans. The race system built upon Dragonball
characters though relying heavily on the material of the show.
It also strives to build your own unique concept of your
character and with a bit of imagination, your own world. The
races themselves range from the brutish and snide Saiyan, the
maniacal and power hungry Icer, to the hellish pits of
the Deadzone to bring the Demons and watchers of the
universe, the kind-hearted and enigmatic Kaios. As for
the community, we strive to bring an entertaining and no
nonsense attitude, but listening all the while.
Dbnu:hb is a Dragonball z mud that undergoing changes
daily as we break away from the Saga Clone-age and
work towards being a more Unique Dragonball MUD.

Neo Infinity will not be based just on Dragonball,
I like other Animes also and have yet to see a good
mud that uses multiple Animes, created on the Smaug
Codebase, so I decided to make one. The only other
one I know about was created by me almost three years
ago and was stolen. I started this mud back when I
was in Highschool like 6 years ago and never got to
do anything with it. The Highschool Computers wouldn't
allow me to do much back then.

Let me start over, I am opening a very newbie friendly
mud, I need a full staff pretty much, I am very picky
about who I hire, but I do want a staff that at least
knows what they are doing. I am willing to train anyone
who wants to learn to build. I am not hiring coders at
the moment. The entire mud is pretty much stock DBSaga
areas, but I am trying to add on to them. I want to keep
them as a Tribute to DBSaga.

I encourage Roleplaying because I enjoy watching the
crazy stuff some of the players come up with.

Currently I will be porting over a few new Races that I
have created on DBTFF before I had a mental block and
quit working there. Fierians, Hylians and Reploids.
Reploids, when they are installed, will not have much
based on Abilities, but I will be trying to redo them
so they play more like in the Megaman games. I am also
open to creating more new races based on players Ideas,
but that is an in mud issue once you have made yourself
at home.

The Soul Ruins was a UCMM affiliated MUD before the network was shutdown. Launched in early 2000, it was the showcase ResortMUD 4.0b MUD. The code is highly modified and the world is all original.

A strangely familiar world is before you to explore. Vast mountains, spanning deserts and seemingly endless oceans are just awaiting an adventurer such as yourself. Perhaps you serve the God Sun, devoted to good and cleansing the land of danger and death. Perhaps you are devoted to the Moon, intent on spreading havoc and evil in every form. Or maybe you're a derived of Earth, and merely want to live a peaceful life. It's up to you how you live in these lands, and up to you if you become famous…or infamous.
We are a very new MUD, currently looking for builders/coders and individuals
who can collaborate with the admin team on new and cool ideas for the game. It
is based on the Star Wars: Rise In Power game, which I played a while back when
it was running. The general idea I have in mind is to create new planets, new ships,
add lots more code.. here's an outline of what I have in mind:

- create special areas with very tough NPCs and puzzles that you have to solve,
like in legend of zelda. You'd have to group to enter these areas as well, we
might have to code a grouping/loot distribution system.

- create new technology, such as transporters that allow cargo and people to be
transported between orbitting ships and planets.

- we could create defined roles so that players would have more of an idea what
to do in the game. There are already classes like pilot, smuggler, combat… but
we could elaborate upon them: mercenary, bodyguard, intelligence officer, cargo
transporter, diplomatic envoy, etc.

- We will work together to make the best possible gaming experience for our players!

- By the way, I have checked items in this MUD entry that are not necessarily in
the game at this time. However, I do plan to add them eventually.

Amitoune, the way of the Ambitious, is a well established Smaug Mud, with over fifty areas, and more on the way, 100 player levels + 100 guild levels, four base classes, each with three orders, and ten guilds. Amitoune is under constant development, and currently in Open Beta. Amitoune has competitive, and open PvP, as well as openness to roleplay. New characters will likely find help from one of our oldbies, and be taken through the ropes.
