                  Welcome to the Maestro Noting System
		  ===================================

   In an effort to provide our players with the easiest and most 
efficient means of communicating, we are proud to give to you a new way 
of writing notes online: The Maestro Noting System.

   This system works a little differently than what you may have been 
used to in the past; however, once you use it just a few times, we are 
sure you will agree that it is easier and more 'user-friendly' than the 
noting system that we had before.  There are just a few main points that 
you will want to remember:

	- On the mud there are a specified number of BOARDS that players
	  can post notes on.  Some of these are reserved for certain levels;
	  however, most are free for all.  You will start out subscribed to
	  four boards: GENERAL, PERSONAL, QUEST, and CREATIVITY.

	- You will receive all the notes posted to the boards that you sub-
	  scribe.  In other words, if you keep that default subscription,
	  you will read every note posted to those boards listed above in
	  order.

	- To change your board subscription or any other aspect of your
	  configuration, choose option '6' -- and either add or remove 
	  boards at your own discretion.

	- Writing notes is easy, as you will find out; however, there is
	  an added feature that allows you to send person-to-person notes
	  on a priority.  You will see this question when you start writing
	  a note, if you answer <y>es, the the player that you send a direct,
	  person-to-person note will be alerted when they log on that it is
	  there..and have a better chance of picking it up immediatly.

	- If you are accessing the mud via a mud client and experience problems
	  with the note editor, please see the configuration option: string
	  echo. (this will not apply to most players)

	- Finally, you will notice that options '1' and '2' look very similar.
	  Option '1' is to read any notes that have been sent to you person-
	  to-person by another individual (for your eyes only).  Option '2'
	  is to read the notes that are on your subscribed boards.


  If you have any questions, feel free to ask an immortal for 
assistance.  This screen only shows up the first time you use the system, 
so the next time you type 'note', you will go directly to the main menu.
