Under the Leaning Post Inn~
You stand in a small room dug into the earth under the common room of
the Leaning Post Inn. Dust and noise filter down from the room above.
You would guess (given the neighborhood you're in) that thieves use this
to escape the city guard. A roughly man-sized hole has been knocked in the
foundation to the west. A cool, damp breeze blows in through it.

The air is cool, and humid here. This area has been hewn out of solid
rock. Tool marks on the rough walls atest to the efforts of whomever built
this place. Sounds of drunken merriment can be heard faintly from the

The feel of this place is oppresive. Niches carved into the walls of

fine cloth. You would expect that these are the graves of people long
dead. You notice that there is not a single shard of bone to be found.

The Catacombs~
This was obviously a tomb for some weathly family of ancient Kortaal.
Several rusting sconces hold rotting hunks of wood that may have been
torches. Bits of corroding metal, rotting wood, and decaying cloth are
everywhere. The only thing that seems out of place is the complete lack of
any human remains.

This area is bigger than the other crypts you've encountered down here.
The walls here have been worked smooth, and are covered floor to ceiling
in huge bas-relief depictions of a forest. On a low platform in the middle
of the room, sit the remains of single stone sarcophagus. Larger chunks of
it lay upon on the dias, with smaller pieces scattered to the four corners
of the room. Like the others, this crypt is devoid of remains.

The stonework of this area is exquisite. Only master Dwarven craftsmen
do such fine work. An archway to the north once held a sturdy door. The

all the exits
