Through the Trees~
You find yourself in a lush and expansive forest, almost tropical in
nature.  A heavy mist fills the air, and every breath fills your lungs with
the heavy tropical scent of the strange fauna growing around you.  To the
north, a small path can be seen going off as far as the mist allows the eye
to see, and to the south, you see a more well-traveled road.

A Branch in the Path~
Here, the path continues bost east and north.  To the north, you see what
apears to be a strange formation of sand in the path, quite unlike the dirt
of the path to the east and south.  The trees around you are tall and wide;

The Path~
The path continues east and west here; to the east, you see it fork
gently north, and to the west, you see it split off north and south.  The
wildlife of the forest are alert and noisy; it seems every time you pass a
tree close to the path, some sort of bird or rodent sounds a warning at you
and flies or scutters off.

A Turn in the Path~
Here, the path gently arcs to the north, where it continues as far as the
mist permits you to see.  The wind is gentle and playful; the thick trees of
the forest only permit it to travel through it in certain avenues, so some
spots are mistier than others.  The sounds of wildlife are all around you.

The Path~
That path continues it's gentle weave as it makes it's way from north to
south; occasionally, it makes a sharp detour around an ancient tree, but
usually, it's pretty straight.  It seems whoever blazed this trail knew what
they were doing.  Perhaps it was the work of a ranger.

The path continues along, gently arcing from west to south in it's long
and casual route.  The trees to the sides of the path are nigh on
impasseable, but you here what sounds like running water from the north;
perhaps there's a river here, supplying these trees and the wildlife with
their much-needed water.

The Path~
The lazy path continues east and west through the thick mist; here, it's
almost so thick as to be choking, but it seems it's just water, rather than
anything more dangerous.  To the east, you see the path gently curve to the
south, and to the west, you see what looks like an intersection of sorts.

The Intersection at the Bridge~
Here, the path splits off in four directions; to the north, you see an
old rope bridge over what appears to be a large chasm of sorts.  You hear
running water to the north, so you'd imagine the chasm was created over
centuries by a river below.  To the east, south and west, the path continues
through the forest, through the mist; to the south, though, a strange
formation of sand has overtaken the path.

The Path~
You continue down the path.  To the west, the path leads on to a darker
part of the forest.  To the east, an intersection can be seen at what looks
like the edge of a bridge over the chasm to the north.  The sound of running
water can also be heard from that direction; you can only assume there's a
river at the bottom of the chasm.  The sounds of the wildlife fill the area
around you, and you feel overwhelmed with the feeling of being alive.

The Bridge~
You are on the very beginning of the south end of a bridge over a very
large, very deep canyon; below, you see the walls of the cliffs, and farther
down, you see a large, lazy river.  The forest has grown to the edge of
either side, and even on the canyon walls, to some degree; lichen and small
bonsai trees have begun to creep down the lip of the edge.  The bridge
continues north over the chasm, and you can see a path to the south.

The Path~
You continue down the path, leading east and west.  Here, a small break
in the treetops have lent this area with ample sunlight for a grove of fern
plants to take hold.  The smell of flowers is sweet to the west, and to the
east, the forest seems to thin and lighten a bit.

A Turn in the Path~
Here, the path turns from east to south, and in the corner of the bend, a
clump of sweet smelling flowers of an assortment of colors have taken
hold...  Perhaps taking one or two wouldn't hurt, and might even win some
points with the significant other.  Go on, take one.  To the east, the path
continues for a ways, and to the south, the path continues into a darker
part of the forest; another bend can be seen in the distance.

A Turn in the Path~
The path takes another of one of its numerous turns here, from north to
west.  Along the edge, an assortment of smaller ferns and bushes have been
beaten back, and beyond them, trees of incalculable height and age stoicly
stand, untouched by the ravages of weather and time.  The forest gets
thicker and darker to the west, but grows a bit lighter to the north.

A Turn in the Path~
Here, the path through the forest halts abruptly at the truck of an
ancient and truly massive tree trunk, and breaks north at an extreme angle. 
The tree itself, though, is what really catches your eye; no matter how you
work the math in your head, you can figure this tree has to be at least a
thousand years old, towering hundreds of feet into the air and shading a
circle that seems to be almost a mile across.  If only you could live that
long, you casually ponder.

The Path~
Here, the path continues north and south through the thick vegitation. 
You can't imagine what time and effort the man or woman who forged this path
had to endure; the growth is so thick and strong that you can't imagine it
even being penetrable for a few feet, let alone an entire path miles in
length.  Whoever did this must have been legendary, or had help.  The path
gets darker to the north, and lighter to the south.

A Turn in the Path~
The path turns AGAIN, this time from south to west.  This never-ending
winding path is quite disorienting; were it not the ocassional glimpse of
the sky, you're sure you'd be lost for direction by now.  To the west, the
forest gets even thicker, whereas to the south, the forest thins a bit.

windy path you're following.  A sign of some sort has been posted here, but

A Turn in the Path~
You casually stroll down another twist in the dark forest; here, you spot
the remains of what looks like a wild boar, which is actually a bit
alarming; after all, those boars are vicious.  In order for something to
kill it, it would obviously have to be more vicious, and that doesn't quite
sit well with you.  The path continues north and east.

it, it seems that it's been traveled quite a bit in the recent past; perhaps

Here, another turn in the path bends around what looks like a large
boulder sunken into the ground, almost as though it fell from the sky. 
Instantly, without even knowing why, the image of a vengeful god hurling
meteors at the earth below enters your head, and you suddenly feel the urge
to continue along at a quicker pace than you had been.  The path leads east
and south.

forest yields the view of what looks like a giant boulder, and to the west,

Here, the land meets the water at the riverbank.  To the north, across
the river, you can see a landing where you could easily get up to and

Crossing the River~
Floating on the river, a lazy feeling enters you; you feel like you could
drift here forever.  However, looking eastward, you hear the unmistakeable
sound of a waterfall, and quickly snap out of it; going east would be folly,
and nothing of real interest lurks to the west.  To the north, a landing can
be accessed, to continue deeper into the forest; to the south, a riverbank
is accessible as well, leading back into the lighter end of the forest.

At the Riverbank~
You arrive at the northern riverbank.  To the east, a trail winds up and
up and up the side of the face of the cliff, and to the south, you see
another riverbank where you could set down upon if you wanted to enter the
southern half of the forest.  Between you and that riverbank is a
eastward-flowing river.  A waterfall can be heard to the distant east.
