SunderMud 2.1 compiles on the following systems:
   Cygwin, current version as of June 1, 2003
   RedHat 7.1
   Probably FreeBSD since 2.0 was developed on a BSD system.
   
Currently there are NO errors or warnings in the compile. If you
receive these, it is the result of differing compiler versions.

The setup scripts have not been updated due to numerous problems
maintining compatibility between systems. Therefore you should 
modify your configuration files manually. These include:

bin/sunder.rc   // Runtime Options - Port number is here, and other things.
src/options.h   // A few minor compile-time options.
src/strings.h   // Important text strings and options <-- You really should
                // edit this one.
Makefile        // If you're running Cygwin, there's a change to make here.

If you do feel like messing with the setup script to write your 
sunder.rc and options.h files (it does not modify the strings.h file),
then you should remember that it may not work on all systems. If it does
work for you, it will generate those files automatically.

The ability of these scripts to run, as well as the "sunderpanel.sh" script
depends not only on your system having dialog, but also upon the particular
version of dialog, the version of your shell, the capabilities of your
terminal, and the temperature in Vladivostok.

Library Requirements:
You must have the crypt library (almost any Linux/BSD system in use today
will have this, as does Cygwin).

You must have "zlib-devel" installed. Many systems did not install this as
part of a default development installation, but it is available in most
standard distributions, you'll just have to install it if it isn't already
present. You'll know this is the case if you get errors in the MCCP files.

If you wish to create dependencies information, use makedepend, which 
is included with the XFree86-devel package (don't ask why, it just is). 
The command-line to use is:

makedepend *.c -f Makefile
