(lib/text/policies)

This file should list, in no uncertain terms, the policies you must abide
by on this MUD.

DEFINITIONS:
 - Owner: A person paying for the MUD in whole or in part. Owners have the
option of having an Immortal character, a God character, a Mortal
character, or none of the above. This option may be exercised at
any time so long as the character is an Owner. He/she is, however,
   restricted by the rules below.
 - Administrator: A player whose function is upholding the rules, building
areas, or some other essential function. All Administrators except those
who work off-line on building are ranked Immortal.
 - Coder: A person who writes parts of the mud's code in whole or in part. A
Coder may or may not have an Immortal character, depending on his role in
the code. Regardless, all coders must follow the rules below which address
   them specifically.
 - Immortal: An Administrator, Owner, or Coder who is ranked as such in level.
 - God: A Mortal elevated to the rank of God and imbued with special commands.
This is NOT an administrative position and has no ability to enforce rules.
 - Mortal: A player of any status ranked below God, but above Unapproved.
 - Unapproved: A Mortal not yet authorized because he/she failed to
auto-authorize, chose not to, or has been demoted to such a position.

MULTIPLAYING:
 - One approved character per person.
 - For now, Gods will not be allowed additional approved Mortals.
 - Unlimited Unapproved characters per person.
 - No more than 1 person per IP address at a time.
 - If you cannot log in because of someone from your IP is already in,
   please follow these steps:
    1. If it's your character and you were just disconnected, create a new
human who is NOT Hardcore and NOT auto-authorized.
    2. If it's someone else and you're on a network, e-mail the administrator
in charge of authorization (HELP AUTH) with a description of the
       situation.
    3. If you're just trying to play multiple characters, don't bother. We
       already know that trick.

PK:
 - Hardcore characters who PK may find themselves hunted. Be warned: Other
Hardcores may not like the threat of being killed off by a player and are
likely to team up against that player. If you want to PK, please play a
non-Hardcore. This is not a rule, it is a request.

CORPSE-LOOTING:
 - Anything on the ground is free game.

WHINING:
 - Do it at your own risk.

CHEATING:
 - The administration does not cheat.
 - Some Mortal characters owned by the coder are created soley for testing
purposes and, while powerful, are not serious players.
 - Any Mortal character owned by an Immortal (administrator) other than a test
char is allowed so long as that character is not granted favors by his/her
Immortal or any other Immortal. These are treated like normal characters
because they have no more knowledge than any other player with the same
amount of experience on the mud (see above note about the coder).
 - As per the multiplaying rules, no Immortal will have his Mortal character
online at the same time as his Immortal UNLESS the Immortal is invisible
and is of the highest ranking Immortal level.
 - An Immortal player who has both a God and a Mortal character may have the
God and the Mortal online at the same time, provided the Immortal meets the
   conditions above.
 - Any player who has both an Immortal and a God may have both of those online
at the same time, provided the Immortal is not used to favor the God and
   all above conditions are met.
