growing in this garden.

impassively, until your eyes spot the treasure, you then feel a powerful

Reception Area~
Wandering in from the temple, you find yourself in the reception area of
the Bethaven Botanical Garden.  The reception area is empty at the moment,
the sounds of the city outside supplying the only real interest.  Glancing
around, you notice numerous brochures scattered around the room.  Perhaps
looking at one may provide some knowledge of the garden.  There is a door
set into the southern wall here.

Coming into the hallway, you find that you may very well be the only
person in here.  The hallway echoes with the sound of your footsteps, yet
they garner no attention.  For a brief moment, you consider the possibility
of the garden being closed to the public.  However, you do notice some

Glassy Entrance~
A wave of intense awe overcomes you as you gaze through the gate of an
enormous glass structure.  Beyond the crystal clear walls lie hundreds of
different varieties of plant life.  Roses, ferns and tall exotic looking
trees fill your field of vision.  After a few seconds, you then notice the
ticket taker, and a few citizens of Bethaven, awaiting entry into the
garden.

Inside the Entrance~
Coming in through the gateway, your nose is assaulted by the overwhelming
fragrance of the garden.  Bright rays of light shine down from the sky,

Garden Proper~
Coming into the garden proper, you find yourself immersed in a wave of
color and perfume.  A sight such as this would take the mind of the most
hardened warrior, and put it at ease.  As you look around, you begin to
notice something rather odd.  Towards the north, the garden seems to have
been turned into a cave of sorts.  Suddenly, you begin to wonder whether or
not the ticket taker offers refunds.

You are in the mouth of what looks like a huge fern grotto.  Odd sounds
echo from within the cave-like opening.  A high pitched buzz erupts from

Overgrown Walkway~
As you travel deeper into the overgrown garden, something causes you to
stop dead in your tracks.  Staring down in horror, you see the body of a
young man, being devoured by huge insects.  Something brushes past your left

through your legs sending a shiver up your spine.

The mist fades away into nothing, giving way to a gut wrenching sight. 
Your stomach knots, in an effort to keep your food down.  Strewn around in
the mud, are the shredded, torn remains of the previous visitors to the
garden.  Thick rivulets of blood flow through the mud, and the thick stench
of decayed flesh overrides any chance to avoid vomiting.  Trying not to
look, you spot an arm sinking...  No..  Being pulled down under the mud.

Muddy Walkway~
You trudge onward through the mud, growing weaker by the minute.  Between
the mud, mist and the intense heat, you feel as if you are no longer in a
garden, but rather, a jungle.  Your grip on your weapon becomes slippery,
and your body spasms with the sensation of hundreds of insects, but as you
look in horror, it is!  Not to mention the fact that the crunching, slurping
sounds seem to be a few feet away, through the mist.

bearings, yet inevitably, you fail.

Stumbling blindly in the mist, you slam against the glass wall of the
building with a loud, painful THUNK!  You begin to feel around, despite the

Straining your eyes downward, you see the shattered remains of many clay

that something barreled its way through here at a high rate of speed.

Bend in Walkway~
The path takes a sharp bend to the east here, and oddly enough, so do the
broken pots.  Now you notice the fact they are lined strategically, showing
the path as it heads towards the east.  You hear a strange sound, almost
like the sound of fruit being mashed.  As you try to pinpoint the sound, a
loud creak echoes from a loose plank in the floor..

Overgrown Walkway~
The terrain takes a turn for the worse here, as the plants suddenly rise
up a good 10 feet above your head.  They fall towards each other,
threatening to collapse upon you, but then they stop.  About ten feet up,
the plants have created a huge canopy, cloaking the surrounding area in
darkness.

Moss Filled Pit~
WHUMP!!!  You end up in a huge moss filled pit.  Luckily for you it
absorbed most of the impact.  You quickly analyze the current situation. 
The floor above is a good 20 feet up.  The heavily mossed walls prevent any
attempt to climb, leaving flight as the only other options.  There doesn't
seem to be any visable exits, yet you sense a cool chill from the north.

Rocky Passage~
You pull yourself up from the mud, and onto a large ledge.  Crushed rocks
lie scattered, as if something stood here at one point.  Examining the rocks
more closely, you find some bits of metal as well.  Perhaps this was a wall
of some sort, maybe a lower level foundation.  The tunnel extends towards
the north.

masonry.  Judging by the make of the material, you assume it to be one of
the sewer pipes running below Bethaven.  It is indeed cool to the touch,

time before panic ensues.

Further Down the Passage~
Travelling further down the honeycomb path, you are overwhelmed with the

body to vibrate, and you eventually grow nauseous.

You enter a small room about the size of a jail cell.  The individual
combs and pockets have been sealed shut.  There is nothing else of interest

The small room has a been molded into a makeshift cell of some kind.  A
few open honeycomb pockets dot the walls, leading you to believe this is a
storage room.  Cracking open a closed one, you rear back as the stench of
death hits you like an ogres' warclub.  Inside the pocket, is the decayed
corpse of some creature.

You dash down the western hall, bleeding and burning with pain.  A huge
golden gate stands before you, guarded by two guards.  As you ready yourself
for another fight, you realize the swarm has not followed you down this

ready to attack.  In the center of the gate is huge honeycomb shaped
carving.  It looks as if that is the keyhole to the gate.

Among The Trees~

Top of the Trees~
As you break through the top of the trees branches, it is then that you

hidden horrors.  A huge platform is levitating above you.  It seems to be
the source of all the noise.  A closed trap door is right above you.

The Floating Platform~
You poke your head through the hatch just to get an idea of what this

suddenly, as you realize you are being watched!
