mages, is a mature gnome.  With small wire-rimmed glasses, he is forever

to spend years dechiphering scrolls that turn out to be mere love letters
from a long forgotten time.  Still, he is unyielding once he sets his mind

post in the Fey-Wielders' Brotherhood.

Elzarian's Exotica~
One of the many little fey-shops surrounding the vaunted Fey-Born Tower,
this particular shop is probably the strangest.  All about you are the
strangest and the most rare items in all of Nidus.  Beside the arm of a
snake, and the leg of a dismembered eye, are also curious little eggs of
wyverns, and eggs merely marked 'Dragons of Lore'.  Even an odd human hand,
or dwarf head has been bottled and preserved for some of the odder rituals
performed by fey-less witch doctors.  Yet hidden on some of these shelves
beside the eyes of newt and the bat guano are some rare little treasures, if
you know what to look for.  Elzarian is both willing to sell you his so
called Exotica or buy some of yours, if you even knew you had any.

Curious Castings~
Upon entering you are quickly overwhelmed by a sweet musty scent, that of
ancient books and manuscripts.  The entirety of this shop is filled with
shelves upon shelves of scrolls, books, and numerous little diaries and
curious scribblings.  The age of some of these documents must surely date
back to before the Holy Wars, and yet these scrolls are all strewn about
carelessly upon racks of shelves.  Behind all this mess is an ancient little
man mumbling out loud about cataloging yet one more series of ancient texts.
Looking straight over the man's tiny wizened head you see the entire back
wall lined with staves and wands of every conceivable height, style, shape,
and material.  How anyone could ever find anything they needed in this shop
is even more amazing then actually seeing so many fey-worked staves and
wands in one place.  Of course, where else would such a collection be, but
at the foot of the Fey-Born Tower, where the Chambers of Fey are said to be
located and where every magician is said to gain their control over the Fey.

The acidic stench of chemicals assaults your sense of smell the moment
you open the door, causing tears to stream from your eyes.  Jars holding
almost every known chemical agent are carefully secured behind the massive
counter, each meticulously labeled in a strange and cryptic code.  Azhdeen's
Apothecary Shoppe is known throughout Khaipur for the magical revitalizing
elixir known as Spring Tonic.  Other tonics, pills, potions, and balms of
health are also sold in some abundance here, so long as the Mistress of Fey
continues to permit Azhdeen to share the Necromantic secrets of prolonged
and healthy life...  At a cost.

Wonders of Fey~
The small and faded wooden sign above this quaint little shop is quite
deceiving indeed.  A more appropriate name would be useless odds and ends. 
While some of the trinkets found in this store are in fact fey-worked, they
are no wonders of fey as the sign claims.  Keys, moldy foods, antique
furniture's, and some of the worst tasting drinks in all of Nidus make up
the wares in this so called Fey-shop.  The shriveled old woman running this
shop merely smiles and giggles at the disdain on your face for her wares. 
Almost a knowing smile, maybe this witch does sell something of value here,
how else does one explain this shop being allowed to stay and operate at the
foot of the Fey-Born Tower?  How else indeed.

Lands Beyond~
Floating within the center of the chamber is the Lady Caliph of all
Sha`irs, known also as the Bringer of Gens, the FeyBride, and Keeper of the
Fey.  This sha`ir is someone to be inspired by, to be awed by, to lust
after, and especially to fear.  Numerous gens attend to her every whim and
desire, for even they have learned to respect the power at her command.  It

The Fey-Gates~
Up the last few steps, you reach the very top level of the Fey-born
Tower.  The chamber is made up of four amethyst archways, each facing out in
one of the four main cardinal directions.  The fey-energies that the Tower
has been funneling upwards culminate here, focusing the Fey energy upon the
open space between each archway.  Thus is the chamber turned into The
Fey-Gates, a series of magical and permanent portals, making travel within
the vast city of Khaipur quick and relatively safe for all Magicians.

Fey-born Tower Council Chamber~
High and deep into the Fey-Born Tower you enter what appears to be the
council chamber of the Master Magicians.  The northern side of the chamber
has set into it thirteen chairs arranged in a semi-circle.  The center chair
is slightly more elevated then the others and appears to be more of a throne
then an actual chair.  A similar semi-circle of chairs is set against the
south end of the room, with the only difference being that the chairs are
about thirteen feet lower then those on the opposite side.  Here then is
where a would-be magician is accepted for training or rebuffed to the role
of a lowly sewer slave for even daring to consider themselves worthy to
become a Magician.  LOOK upon the FEY and speak the words out aloud and see
if you shall be accepted into the lofty ranks of the mighty Fey-Wielders.

Apprentices' Quarters~
Littered throughout the entire room are huge piles of blankets and
pillows along with books of Fey lore.  Most of these apprentices await the
Mistress of Fey to appoint them each to their own particular master so that
they may begin their training in earnest.  They are quite content in the
meantime to merely learn and study what little Fey lore is made available to
them at this time, and to rough-house and bond with the other young men, for
almost all Mages begin their training at the age of 17, when puberty won't
interfere with the channeling of Fey energies.

Fey-Master's' Quarters~
Inside the quarters of one of the Fey-Master, you know that if you are
caught you will face the ultimate punishment, death.  Yet, the threat of
death just for a tiny peek inside the private quarters of a Fey-Master seems
well worth the risk.  As it is always said, Life is Fey, and Fey is
capricious, so ultimately you are highly disappointed with what you find
within the Fey-Master's quarters.  Nothing, nothing but a comfortable bed
and a few scattered personal belongings are to be seen, not a single book
with earth-shattering secrets or a single staff of power to be seen.  What a
waste of time, for the Fey-Master must not trust the prying eyes of the
apprentices, and for good reason it seems.  Wouldn't you agree?

Stepping onto the second landing on your journey to the top of the

Strait of Torments.  The spiraling staircase continues on, leading you ever
closer to the Fey-Born Council Chamber, and then to the very heart of the
Tower, the Chambers of Fey themselves.

always cover the Strait of Torments.  The shinning
brilliance of the BloodWatch Guards catch your eye as
they seem to be amassing in force as the Crimson Pike
is readied for yet another voyage into the Strait of

Sea.  The size of the storm at the Strait of Torments
looks to be huge indeed, you hope they make it back,
if only so you may brave the Strait yourself one day.

Now, as you continue along the spiraling staircase, you begin to tire of

This never-ending stairway would try even the patience of a Taken.  You
begin to think that the Chambers of Fey may not actually exist, and that
flinging yourself over the edge of the staircase would indeed be a wiser
choice then continuing onwards.  Stubborn as a dwarf though, you continue
onwards with the drudgery of each step and of each stair.  Step, stair,

A Landing~
Again you are greeted with a tower-shaped window on the southern wall. 
Looking down the Tower your head begins to swim as a small case of vertigo
overcomes you.  You begin to wonder if there is even an end to the spiraling
staircase, for if you do not reach the end soon, you will surely explode
with frustration.  The staircase continues to wind further and further
upwards, ever closer to the Chambers of Fey, ever closer to the Fey-Born
Tower Council Chamber.  Always ever closer and yet always seemingly out of
reach, soon, the end must be soon, or so you try and convince yourself.

So high are you, that you are unable to make out
any citizens along the streets of Khaipur.  Few
specific buildings can be made out now, and among
those that you can make out are the Cathedral, and
the Bedouin Enclave.  You are unsure exactly how
high you are, or even if you are near the top of

to be thinning out quite a bit.  The view is quite
spectacular, when you are not being overcome by
lightheadedness.

intersection of hallways, the Tower Center.  Above each hallway entrance, a

Northward lies the Tower Library, westward are the Apprentice Dorm rooms,
eastward are all the Fey-Masters' Personal Quarters, and to the south awaits
the actual Learning Grounds of the Fey-Wielders.  One may also continue up
into the actual Chambers of Fey to stand before and converse with the
Mistress of Fey, or return down, back to the Council Chamber.

The Tower Library Entrance~
Entering the library, you are greeted with the sweet, musty scent of old
books and parchments.  This library is reknown for having one of the largest
collection of ancient history.  Within these very books are suppose to be
the records of Janus's birth, and of all the Taken, and with that, the True
Names of the powers of Nidus.  With such knowledge one could lay claim to
the powers of the Taken, and rule over the world of Nidus.  However, if all
this is true, why hasn't anyone found those names yet?  Maybe they weren't
as thorough as they should of been, or as you will be?  Maybe.  The library
is separated into three sections, the legends and lore to the east, to the
west the histories of Nidus, and all available knowledge of the Fey to the
north.

Shelves and shelves of ancient scrolls and books cover almost every inch
of space.  Some of these scrolls are so old that they aren't even written on
actual parchment, but are written on everything from electrum sheets to
sheep skin.  The tomes range in almost every Fey-born topics, from the great
CHAOS to the current discoveries of manipulation of the Fey.  A small round
table in the corner with a cushioned chair offers you a nice little place to
put down your texts and relax while you drink in the knowledge.

The Tower Library~
Books the size of small tables line the south and north wall from the
ceiling to the floor.  The walls are in actuality ready made stone shelves,
for only stone shelving's could support the sheer weight of all these
enormous volumes of history.  All the books are neatly arranged in
chronological order, supposedly dating as far back as the birth of Janus
himself.  All of those records are suppose to be contained right here in
this library, within one of these very volumes.  A small alcove is located
at the western wall with a small table and a wooden chair set into it, lit
by a small shimmering mage-globe to read by.

The Tower Library~
The Legends and Lore section, possibly the most popular section of the
entire library, is always full by both apprentices and by the Fey Masters. 
Both, apprentice and master, have dreams and fantasies of being the one to
uncover the location of some long forgotten artifact or place of power. 
This entire section is brimming with rumors and folklore now ancient by even
dwarven standards.  Still, the slight hope of uncovering just one of these
ancient relics of the past, when the Fey of Nidus was as yet untapped and
real weapons of power existed, drive even the wisest of the Fey-Wielder
brotherhood to spend hours upon hours locked away just reading ancient tomes
day after day for that hidden clue to the past.

A Hallway in the Tower~
Heading towards the Apprentice Dorm rooms, you are greeted with the
sounds of laughter reverberating down the hallway.  This section of the
Fey-Born Tower is one of the few where the would-be Wielders of Fey have
full, and complete reign of their limited free time.  The small hallway
continues further west to the actual dorm rooms, the living center for the
apprentices, while the Tower Center is just a bit east of here.

The Apprentice Dormitory~
Closed doors greet you to the north, west, and south as you come into the
Apprentice Dormitory.  Loud noises and laughter spill forth from almost
every door as the apprentices take full advantage of their own time, what
little of it is ever provided.  This room is set with an enormous stone
table with stone benches running along on each side of it.  Some small
scraps of food are all that is left on the table, as it seems that most of
today's grub has already been eaten and taken back into the apprentice's
quarters.  You may enter the sleeping quarters of the apprentices, though
you doubt you would ever get much sleep with all the loud noises and
laughter coming from them.

their hands, in what appears to be an intense wrestling match.  Maybe you
can get in on the action.

Oddly enough, this room is extremely quiet compared to the ruckus
emanating from the other rooms.  Bathed in darkness, not a single candle nor
mage-globe lights the room.  Stepping in to get a closer look you see strewn
about the room are exhausted apprentices, all sprawled out trying to get
what little sleep they can get before their next session with their
Fey-Master .  These must be those apprentices that have met with the
Mistress of Fey and have been assigned to a Fey-Master to guide their
training, before they are finally allowed to tap the power that is the Fey. 
Be nice and don't wake them, just let them sleep.

Down the hallway, you walk cautiously for fear that someone may see you
sneaking about.  Only the Fey-Masters are allowed down this way, for the

this hallway, for if they are caught, the punishment for trespassing is
death.  Privacy is a staple of Fey-Wielders, and ware all those who would
encroach upon the privacy of any Fey-Master, for their mastery of the Fey is
mighty indeed, and their wrath is known to be even greater.  Continue on
then, if you dare, but know ye that you have been warned for the last time.

Fey-Master's Quarters~
Slowly opening the door, you peek inside to discover a sleeping Fey
Master.  The room is bathed in a soft golden light from a mage-globe on the
night table, showering the entire contents of the room in an eerie light. 
From what you can see, no books or items of power can be readily seen.  Dare
you enter and risk waking your teacher, a powerful Fey-Master, just for the
hope of finding something of power inside?  Well, you have come this far
haven't you, whats a little further...

A Hallway in the Tower~
Sparks light the entire passageway as you get closer to the Learning
Grounds.  Within this section of the Tower the would-be Fey-Wielder learn
how to best apply their new found knowledge and skills with fey in both
creative and destructive forms.  It is here that all magicians must learn to
not just use the Fey, but to actually thrive in unison, as one with the Fey
for a chance to survive the dreaded ^Crimson^Lust^ that plagues this, oh so
harsh land of Nidus.  Southward then, into the Learning Grounds, or return
back north to the Tower Center.

Entrance to the Learning Grounds~
Entering the Learning Grounds is not recommended for any magician, lest
they be the bravest and the strongest, for deaths are common place within
the Grounds.  The entire southern section of the Fey-Born Tower has been
altered to reflect every terrain and condition currently known in the lands
of Nidus.  Personal duels and challenges occur here almost daily, and are
fully sanctioned by the very Fey-Masters, but ware for they are known and
quite fond of throwing in unforeseen obstacles, such as sneak attacks from
other apprentices, and Fey-worked areas, in order to add the element of the
unknown.  Enter then, but know ye that death may follow you in, and you may
never leave...

The Learning Grounds~
High above the billowing clouds, you suddenly find yourself on a steep
mountain side.  Boulders the size of rooms surround you, providing an
excellent place for an unseen assailant to lay in wait, and to look for the
most opportune moment in which to strike you down in.  The air up here is so
thin that you find yourself struggling for every breath of air.  Just then,
you hear the same labored breathing as your own just beyond a set of boulder
to the south, or was that just your imagination?

Into a sandstorm you trudge along, with the noon sun beating down upon
your weary shoulders, blistering your skin where-so-ever it finds it
exposed.  Parched from thirst, you don't know how much longer you can
continue on, for even your thoughts are drowned out from the ever constant
howling of the stinging sands upon your beaten body.  Yet, with every single
step you take, you know you near closer to your target, or is it that you
yourself are now the target?  Within the confines of this sandstorm, one
would never know, for a person could walk right beside someone and be only a
mere five feet away, and none would be the wiser.

seen in every direction.  Adrift on a skiff, barely able to hold two, you
take comfort in the knowledge that the intimacy of the moment will not be
spoiled, for death is such a personal thing after all.  Here on this raft,
your victim will receive no S.  O.  S.  , no last appeal to the Taken, just
you and them, in a dark and ever final embrace, the coldest embrace, the

Night falls over you as you step into a tropical jungle, into a dark
jungle in search of your prey.  This jungle however is home to so many wild
predators, where even you can become the one hunted, instead of the hunter. 
Swarms of insects continuously bite and harass you while the sounds of the
jungles fill your ears.  A low and guttural growl suddenly emanates from a
dark shadow in a tree branch directly above you, your prey perhaps?  Or
maybe you're the prey now,...  Perhaps....

Alone in the darkness of the deepest sea, here the only death you shall
know is the one you make for yourself.  Not even the feared ruler of the
sea, the gargantuan Leviathan, ventures so far down in the ocean floor.  The
pressure starts to rise as your control over the Fey begins to wane, for so
deep along the ocean bottom have you ventured.  Staying here any longer
would be folly, for without the protection of your most precious Fey, the
sheer pressure of the ocean would crush the very life from you in but an
instant.

people in search of your elusive prey.  With so many people crowding the
streets, you just can't be sure if your prey is even here, and if they are,

throng of people to a safer battleground.  Your target could be anywhere,
