A faint path through the marsh grass~

Stubbornly deciding to follow an offshoot of water that branches away from the
river and trickles into the marsh grass, you find yourself shoving your way
down a barely existant path. Behind you, to your north, the woods loom even
more darkly than they appeared while you were within them to get away from 
the confining trees is almost a relief. The path seems to become a bit easier
to follow as the rivlet of water carves its own route and is joined by several
other small streams to create a sizeable spring.

A path through the marsh grass~
~
You continue to stroll alongside the stream, putting more distance between 
yourself and the woods from which you emerged. The grass surrounds you, in
many places preventing you from seeing more than a few steps ahead of you since
the greenish golden plants grow to a height that equals your own. Even as you
walk, you can see that the stream continues to grow in size as it is fed by
small trickles of water which branched off from the river in the woods.

Following the stream~
~
The banks of the stream widen so abruptly that you find yourself taking a few
hurried steps backwards to avoid falling into the water. Joined by another
small rivlet which flows in from the south, the now-sizeable stream begins to
flow at a swifter pace as well. You find yourself forced to watch your step
carefully, for a wrong step could send the unwary traveler floundering into the
water.

Deep within the marsh grass~
~
The only sight to see in any given direction, save for the river you follow, is
the sight of thousands of stalks of marsh grass growing taller than you. If not
for the stream, you would be hopelessly lost, for no amount of trying would
help one see over the overgrown stalks. Fortunately, the stream acts as a sure
guide, as does the path of trampled grass that you have left behind you to show
the way back to the woods.

Because the footing is so treacherous in this open field, you find yourself
forced to take every step extremely carefully. Rocks and bumps in the ground
could easily cause a twisted ankle. You still find it difficult to see through
the towering marsh grass, though it seems to be thinning out a bit to the
southwest. Unsurprisingly, the stream has proved to be an excellent guide.

At long last the grass surrounding you begins to decrease in size as well as
quantity. Pushing through weeds which are now only chest-height, you find
yourself spurred to keep pushing on, curious to see where the still-growing
stream leads. Even as the sharp grass slices unprotected bits of skin it comes
in contact with, the sense of adventure never falters.

Following a faint path~
~
Finally leaving the field of marsh grass behind you, you find yourself standing
on what appears to be the beginning of a faint path. Because it meanders
alongside the river you have been following, walking on the path will only make
your explorations that much easier. To your surprise, you realize that the
rivlet has indeed grown to a full-size river, fed from unseen sources, for it
is now several paces in width.

Following a faint path~
~
The path is really little more than a trail of packed dirt. In fact, it could
quite easily be nothing more glamerous than a game trail for some predator, but
following it into unexplored territory lends its own sense of adventure. You
can still see the dark trail of trampled grass when you turn to look behind you
as well as the darker shadow of the woods; before you, you catch more gleams of
what could be the sun glinting off of a large body of water.

Following a well-worn path~
~
The ground beneath your feet is bare of grass, providing a winding trail which
follows the river. With the noble exception of the path, the small, rolling
hills around you are brilliantly colored, green with the growth of spring and
carpeted in wildflowers. The path continues to the west and to the northeast it
fades away and gradually becomes the field of marsh grass you emerged from.

Following the river~

Gradually, the hills begin to flatten and the river's current slows to a calm
trickle. The feeling of walking beside such a peaceful body of water is both
invigorating and calming at once, and you find yourself loathe to leave this
place. Your step quickens, however, as you catch a glint of a larger body of 
water to your north. The river you follow swings to the north as well, as does
the path you walk on.

Approaching a sparkling ocean~

Clearly visible ahead of you lies a large body of water which glints gently in
the light shining down from above. The path beneath your feet has gradually
hardened into what could almost be considered a road as you traveled it; you
can see that this was once a well-traveled area. Ahead of you, the path seems
to run right to the shore of the ocean, several feet away from the point where
the river that was your faithful guide joins the ocean which you see spread out
before you.

Standing by a peaceful ocean~
~
Waves lap gently against the shores of this large, sparkling ocean as you stand
and gaze at the vast stretch of blue water before you. Somehow though, the
water looks different than oceans you remember seeing in the past. Almost as
though it is meant to hide something below the surface. A sudden movement
catches the corner of your eye and you turn to see an unsightly pile of
filthy, patched cloth and rags, barely recognizable as a human who, now that he
has your attention, immediately begins begging you to purchase one of the many
trinkets he hawks to those unwary beings who come within earshot.

shimmering glimpse of the world above the surface of the ocean. You find 
yourself reaching a hand up to touch the point where water meets air, the
desire to seperate yourself from the water enveloping you for even the shortest
moment creating a sense of urgency... Oddly, you find yourself unable to break
the surface of the ocean, almost as though a protective barrier has been formed
above you, it seems that the only way to go now is down into the mysterious
depths of the ocean...

The merguard station~
~
Your feet finally touch a semi-solid surface as you finish your slow descent to
the bottom of the ocean and immediately are faced with the first of what is sure
to be many odd challenges. Before you floats a merman wielding a wickedly
spiked trident whose sole purpose in life, at least for the time being, seems
to be glaring menacingly at you. As you take in the rest of your surroundings
besides the scowling merguard, you see that you have come to rest before a
large building made of.. sand? The building seems to be stable, but indeed it
has been constructed of sand and debris. Around you lies a vast plain of more
sand, though your feet seem to have landed at the beginning of a faint path.
Under the watchful eyes of his superior, the merguard floats to your side and
begins to follow your every move, showing no intent of leaving.

An underwater path~
~
You leave the merstation behind and continue to follow a faint path; it is 
difficult to see exactly where you are being led. To the east, you can see the
distinct outline of an enormous mound of sand surrounded by many smaller
heaps that look almost like a palace and the city surrounding it. To the south
your view is barred not too far away by what appears to be a solid wall made
of enourmous stalks of seaweed grown so closely together that not even the 
tiniest fish can pass between them. However, the seashells and various other
bits of debris that constitute the path you are on continue to lead you to the
east.

A split in the path~
~
The path of debris that you have followed thus far finally fades beyond easy
recognition, giving way to three new trails. The first, a string of stones that
leads in a meandering line towards the northeast, seems to lead towards a small
cluster of sandy mounds that you can only assume to be an underwater city. The
next path, a well-worn trail that leads off to the east, will take you directly
to the enourmous mound of sand that lies to one side of the small town; it can
only be a palace of sorts. The final path is the most distinct of them all: a
line of seaweed plants that leads directly towards the forest of seaweed to 
your south. A quick glance at your guardian shows that he does not much care
which path you chose, so the choice is up to you.

The path to the Regius Fons Palace~
~
The path beneath your feet seems far more solid then normal sand ought to be;
it is obviously well traveled. The palace begins to take shape as you approach
it; tall spires of sand nearly touch the surface of the ocean and immense,
sculptured columns support the fragile mound. All around you the landscape 
has gradually begun to change from barren sand to sparse vegetation, vaguely
reminding you of the surface from which you came. The trail meanders towards
the Regius Fons Palace in the east and to the crossroads just west of you.

Before the Palace Gates~
~
&CEnormous, golden gates rise before you, soaring several feet above your 
head to terminate in gracefully curving arches. Bars formed of solid gold 
line the gate vertically, each placed precisely a hands width apart from 
its neighbors. A cautious push at one of the magnificent works of art 
reveals that they swing open easily, allowing access to any person who 
wishes to enter, although there are certainly very effective safeguards 
which will keep out any unwelcome intruder. The palace, vaguely visible 
through the gleaming bars, rises before you in magnificent grandeur; you 
feel a faint pulling sensation, coaxing you to enter this incredible 
domain.

Within a small courtyard~
~
You stand within the middle of medium sized courtyard. This sizable space is
completely enclosed on three sides by a sparkling golden wall and on the
eastern side by the palace itself. The sand beneath your feet has been well
groomed; in fact, it looks as though someone went over the entire courtyard
with a rake! No footsteps can be seen in the soft sand besides your own; the
inhabitants of the ocean float above the surface of the bottom. Behind you stand
the grand golden gates which lead to the crossroads.

A rock portcullis hovers high above your head, ready to crash down on any
unwanted intruders. The sand surrounding it seems to hold it securely in place
several feet above your head, yet you still feel the urge to duck as you enter
the castle itself. The water around you suddenly feels very insecure as you
contemplate the dark entrance before you... Anything could await you in there!

An Ornate Ballroom~

&CYou stop in amazement as you enter this room, staring at the sights that 
meet your eyes. Thousands of iridescent stones and shells illuminate this 
large room, and as your eyes grow accustomed to the dim light, you begin 
to make out the forms of hundreds of couples sweeping across the floor in 
a slow, stately dance. From the south you can smell the delicious odors of 
food and to the north you spy a faint glimmer of natural light. The filled 
ballroom spreads out majestically before you.

&CAs you stroll through the ball room, some of the lighting techniques 
really catch your eye. Thousands of iridescent shells are strewn seemingly 
haphazardly about the area, while tiny, gently glowing fish flit and weave 
their way throughout the crowd. Although dimmer then the outside or the 
surface, you find the lighting pleasant and immensely pleasing; just like 
every other aspect of this large room, it creates a sense of peace within 
you.

An Ornate Ballroom~

&CThe ceiling high above your head draws your attention and you crane your 
neck back to stare at it. Although this entire structure is constructed of 
nothing but sand, you find that this palace is more sturdily fashioned 
than may buildings you remember from your jaunts on the surface. Swirled 
with lightly colored designs of sand, the ceiling is beautiful, just like 
everything else you have seen below the surface of this ocean.

The dancers swirl in an almost hypnotizing pattern, offering occasional smiles

A change in the designs covering the wall catches your eye and you pause to
inspect further. The stark lines and curls which wandered the walls before,
coating the room in their simplistic beauty, abruptly swirl into a sketched
garden with elaborate flowers and beautifully exotic plants which run wild. You
cannot help but wonder how underwater folks came to understand the beauty of
the world above the surface.

Floating regally above the heads of the dancers, a large group of musicians
orchestrate the music the fills the room. Although the general mutter of
conversation quickly drowns the notes, you can see smaller groups playing the

this room are beautifully and elegantly crafted. Careful drawings, intended to
convey a sense of peace and serenity, do not seem to be blurred or upset in

feeling for the general mood of the people packed into this room. Although 
politeness and cheerfulness predominate the expressions on peoples' faces, 
you can sense an underlying amount of... Could it be fear? Everything you 
have seen thus far conveys only a sense of serenity. What could these 
aquatic people possibly have to be afraid of?

An ornate ballroom~
~
You almost walk into a member of a tiny group of musicians as you wander toward
the corner of the room. Trying in vain to compete with the general murmur of
voices that fills the room, the musicians play their hearts out, pouring every
ounce of their energy into the music emerging from their instruments. Although
you stand very close to them, you have to strain to catch the lovely melody;
frowning irritably, you wish that there could be silence for even a few moments
so that you could better hear the enchanting tune.

~
You stop short as you encounter a branch in the corridor. Until now, you have
passed only locked, metal doors, yet now several decisions confront you. The
hallway continues to your east, while open doors invite you to take a peek 
inside to the northeast and southeast. A ladder is securely fastened against
the wall, providing a way up to what must be an attic.

A murky attic~
~
The water around you is dark, murky and still. No currents besides the ones you
create through your own movements stir the eerily still water; you feel almost
guilty for disturbing this peaceful place. If you look carefully enough, you

A cluttered storage room~
~
An opening in the wall before you provides not only the sole source of light in
the attic, but also reveals a magnificent view of the tiny village in the 
distance. You can just make out the miniscule forms of the citizens, for they
are easily lost in the swirls of color. All of the careful beautification in
the village comes together at this distance to produce a stunningly spectacular
view.

~
Mounded clumps of rocky sand make up the walls and ceiling. They appear
crumbled and ill kept, as though they will fall apart at any moment. The floor
is uneven, shifting dangerously from time to time as well as rising in a rocky protrusion.

A Dusky Corner~

&CThis corner seems to be holding up well compared to the rest of the 
attic. Smooth walls, which gradually transfigure into the bumpy clumps 
surrounding the rest of the room, give this corner a slight contrast to 
the rest of the room. A small picture is carelessly dropped on the floor 
here, standing out against the stark background.

A red-carpeted hallway~
~
The floors and walls of this winding hallway gradually change from hard packed
sand to cold, impersonal stone which is covered by a red carpet. You halfway
expect the sounds of your steps to resound loudly in the silence, yet even the
impact of your feet hitting the ground seems muffled to your ears, not only by
the surrounding water or the carpet under your feet, but also by your rambling
thoughts. Your companion, the merguard, follows your every move as you proceed
down the hallway together.

The throne room~
~
Spread out before you is a magnificent room, glowing a hundred times more 
brightly than the ballroom. Although the golden-hued chamber is enormous,
only a thin, red strip of carpet is accessable to you. Merguards even more
arrogant than the one by your side, regally float in precise rows, watching
your every move. A few steps away, a raised dias supports a grand throne.

You step onto the platform cautiously, aware that every eye in the room is 
locked on your every move. A giant chair, beautiful in every meaning of the 
word, towers before you, though the beauty of the occupant dwarfs everything

must be the queen of these realms...

A servant's quarters~
~
A stark, clean room greets your entrance. This must be a servent's quarters,
for the boxlike room could belong to no other in this majestic palace. A narrow
bed occupies half the room, and a few of the servent's personal belongings are
carefully arranged atop a tiny table. The only color in the room radiates from
a bright yellow flower which sways softly in the current from its place in the
center of the room.

~
All kinds of junk is strewn across this tiny room. Everything from strangely
colored bits of seaweed to shiney bits of metal lies where it was dropped,
decorating the room with their very presence. The unkempt bed is pushed into
a corner, giving the most space possible in such a closet-like room. The gentle
currents of water carry random crumbs; several stick to your skin and armor as
you inspect the room.

Gateway to the surface~

The shimmer of natural light that caught your eye expands until it brightens
the entire small chamber, almost bright enough to hurt your eyes after the
relative gloom of the ocean. Craning your neck, you can almost see the true blue

your vision of the surface. A wave of homesickness washes over you, and you
begin to wish more than anything that you could be free of this watery 
prison...

Goosebumps crawl up and down your skin as you enter this room; a blast of 
frigid air envelops you immediately. Looking around, you can see that this
large room holds a great quantity of frozen food. How, you wonder, can the
water surrounding you be so very cold and not have yet become solid ice, yet
somehow, it seems to remain at a constant, jellied state. With another shiver,
you decide that it might just be time to leave this cold, cold room...

Within a small courtyard~

The northwest corner of this courtyard yields a rather pretty view of the quiet
village in the distance. You can just barely see the scattered mounds that must
be buildings; even from several leagues away the unblemished colors sparkle
radiantly in the sunlight streaming in from above the surface. Although the
golden fence somewhat hinders your view of the landscape beyond the castle, you
still cannot help admiring the beauty.

The castle towers before you, spiring towers climbing until they nearly touch
the surface of the ocean. Loose sand beneath your feet nearly causes you to
stumble to the ground; unstable footing comes as a shock after the fairly
stable walk you enjoyed as you approached the palace. A quick glance around the
premesis tells you that there is not much else of interest in this area of the
courtyard.

To the south, you can barely glimpse a towering cliff that rises even above the
surface of the ocean. The small courtyard seems suddenly very cramped as you
peer out at the vast open space before you; the dense forest of weeds and the
rock beds spread out prettily, conveying a general sense of serenity. A minute
shift of the lose sand beneath your feet causes you to glance down, but the
surface seems steady enough. You find yourself drawn to the majestic palace
only a few steps away...

Within A Small Courtyard~
~
&CUpon closer examination, the walls before you become more intriguing. 
What originally appeared to be a haphazardly heaped pile of sand 
constructed in the manner of a castle's walls, it is now apparent that a 
careful hand carved delicate designs into the sand of the walls. They must 
require quite a bit of constant upkeep in order to keep the pictures as 
clear and sharp as you see them, yet you have not seen a single person 
tending to the garden of this place. If the exterior is this 
awe-inspiring, the inside must be amazing.

Within a small courtyard~
~
The courtyard itself is shrouded in its own subtle beauty. The greenish carpet
of seaweed cloaking the ground almost hides the shifting sand, although the
footing remains treacherous. Larger plants spiral their way up the gates and
the golden fence at random intervals, adding their touch of green to the
sparkling gold of the fence. Small flowers of every color sway gently in the
prevaling underwater current. Even this place of power has its own special
peace.

The Path to the Regius Fonds Village~

&CThe stones that you follow quickly resolve their quasi-random structure 
into a definite path, one much easier to follow than the scattered debris 
that initially led you into this aquatic wonder. The sand that lies in 
between the stones is very fine, and obviously rich in nutrients to judge 
by the lush and abundant plant growth that surrounds you. A myriad of 
shrubs and plants in a variety of colors surrounds you, though they keep 
well clear of the path of stones.

Approaching the village~
~
You continue to follow the path that seems to be leading you right to the edge
of the group of sandy mounds which you are now certain must be a village. The
stones of the path have gradually gotten so close together that they could
almost be considered a cobblestone trail; it is much easier to travel this
path than on the constantly shifting sand common to the bottom of the ocean.
To your east you can see the outskirts of Regius Fons Village while taking the
path south will return you to the point where the path you initially followed
into the ocean split into three sections.

The Outskirts of Regius Fons Village~
~
The path leads you right up to the outskirts of the tiny village before 
twisting to the northeast to become the village's main road. All around you,
the work that the inhabitants of the Regius Fons Village have put into
cultivating the natural beauty is obvious; each delicate plant, each grain of
sand, seems to have been placed in its exact place as though it has always been
there and forever will be. Even the stones that form the path beneath your feet
have been carefully fit together to bring out the most of their individual
shapes and form an intricate pattern of beauty. Truely, if the path that leads
into this tiny village is so pretty, the village itself must be breathtaking!

Danu Circle~
~
The beauty apparent from outside the boundries of the village is intensified
a thousandfold as you come to a halt and slowly allow your eyes to wander,
drinking in the sights surrounding you. The road beneath your feet, formerly
the cold grey of all rocks, gradually acquires a myriad of colors that seem as
natural as the grey color of the remaining stones. A tiny village with very
few citizens, the houses that you see can only be described as awe-inspiring,
out of the same sand beneath your feet has been crafted a cluster of 
intricate structures, each differernt than all the others. To your west and 
north the circle that constitutes the main road of the village slowly winds
its way to the very edges of the village and back to your feet, connecting the
handful of dwellings in the process. To your northwest runs the one other
road in the village, Cenad Way, whose sole purpose is to divide Danu Circle
into two halves.

Floating in a void~
~
Unlike the forest of seaweed still visible far to your south, the plant life
within the area also reflects the underlying beauty found throughout the
village. In addition to delicate flowers that look as though they belong under
protective shields rather than within the potentially damaging underwater
eddies, the non-flowering plants show one of the few signs of beauty without
streaking colors. Found in varying shades of green, each plant is diverse,
different from the ones around it. To add to the beauty, it seems that all dead
or unhealthy folliage has been removed from the plants. Danu Circle continues
to the north and to the south.

~
A stunning display meets your eyes as you stare at one of the three buildings
that make up the entire village. The citizens of the village prefer to live
as a community, calling the area that they currently concentrate on 
transforming from the mundane dun-colored sand to the magnificent blend of
colors that give Regius Fons village a life of its own, they live as a 
single organism, working in harmony and living without any sense of 
unhappiness. The building you stand before sports a scenario taking place
entirely in the sky which, along with fire and a group of landforms known
only to those who have seen above the surface are nothing but myths to these
people. The vivid pictures and colors make you suddenly homesick for the
world above the water... Danu Circle continues to your northwest and south.

A tiny hut~
~
Currents of water swirl around you as though trying to sweep you off your feet
as you enter this room. Through a hole in the roof of the tiny building you
can see sunlight streaming in from the surface, but none of the splendor
surrounding the building. Sand lies packed around the edges of the building
and the ground beneath your feet is nothing but mud, for the churning water
has pushed all loose materials to the sides of the building. In the center
of the room a small funnel of water and air keeps the water circulating at a
rapid pace. You wonder what would happen if you threw something in there...

Danu circle~
~
All along the length of Danu Circle you can see the citizens of the village,
many strolling along the ornate path deep in conversation with either a guard
or a friend while others wonder individually or in pairs, stopping occasionally
to admire the scenery, the fruits of their never-ending labor. Still others 
stand patiently by carts, waiting to preach the virtues of their wares to
anyone who expresses the least bit of interest, and indeed, there seems to be
a fairly large amount of dickering transpiring. In addition to being a
beautiful village, Regius Fons seems to bustle with life. Danu Circle
continues to your west and southeast.

~
Sparkling brightly in the rays of sunshine that manage to find their way 
beneath the shimmering surface of the ocean, every grain of sand stands out
compared to the ones surrounding it. Some particles clear and others opaque,
the sand is similar to the stones of the path in that every grain of sand must
have been placed in its exact position, for the sandy dunes within the
village have the appearance of millions of colors skillfully swirled together
to bring out the individual qualities of every hue. Danu Circle continues to

To your south stands one of the lone trio of buildings found within the 
village. Oddly, as you approach this small, hollow mound of sand, you notice
several quick, astounded glances in your direction-as though you are about to
attempt something unheard of! Turning your attention back to the structure
before you, the designs skillfully embeded into the sand walls jump out at you,
assailing your senses. Each of the scenarios takes place on a different 
landscape; mountains, hills, forests, plains and more are represented on this
amazing tribute to the virtues of earth. To your east and southwest, Danu
Circle continues on its way.

A one-room hovel~
~
You feel a sense of surprise as you enter this hovel; instead of the tiny
interior that you expected, you find yourself confronted with a vast plain of
rolling hills; in the background you see... That can't be mountains, can it?
A sense of awe consumes you as you look around. Every landform concievable
both above and below the surface is represented here, although completely void
of any plant or animal life. Not even the fish venture into this building.
A piece of ground darker than its surroundings catches your eye and you find
yourself drawn to it. A hole, deep enough that you cannot see to the bottom
lies before you. You wonder what would happen if you threw something into it...

~
Scattered beneath your feet and peppering the entire village area, the
scintilating seashells add yet another impression of sparkling color to the 
already gorgeous setting you slowly walk through. Like the fish lazily swimming
around you, no two shells look even remotely similar-some shells shine
brightly while others glow dully; a few shells are streaked with colors while
others are colored uniformly. While two shells may share a color, they may
differ in shape and likewise, two shells with a common shape may sport two
completely different color combinations. Danu Circle continues to your south
and northeast.

One of the three structures in the village stands directly to your east. From
the outside you see the intricate details rendered on the surface of the 
building, a veritable mural of scenes depicting the virtues of fire. Delectable
looking meat cuts roasting on spits, cheery flames warming a freezing hunter,
a low campfire keeping wild beasts at bay while a family sleeps at night...
The scenes seem to come to life before your wondering eyes, you find yourself
dazzled by the flames as though they were real rather than drawings on the
outer wall of a building. If the building is rendered in this much detail on
the outside, surely the interior must be something to behold! Danu Circle
runs to your north and south.

Inside a small hut~
~
A blast of heat sears your face as you enter this room, you feel an intense
urge to back away as fast as you can, but you somehow find the willpower to
remain long enough to see the interior. The water bubbles as though coming to
a boil which is, of course, impossible given the pleasant temperature of the
water outside of this room. Squinting your eyes against the pain consuming
your entire being, you can dimly see that the red-tinted water in the room
swirls gently, a firey inferno that will eventually cook you alive. And yet..
Something in the middle of the room draws your attention, a blaze of fire
burns brightly, just as if it were located on the surface. An urge to throw
something into the dancing flames causes you to clench your fists at your
sides...

Danu Circle~
~
A small school of fish swims before your nose as you continue along the winding
circle. Strangely, out of all the different types of fish you see, none are
larger than your head and the vast majority are much smaller than that. Each of
the fish can claim its own combination of colors and designs, no two are even
close to similar. One particular fish's body is covered in short, ornate spikes
that look anything but sharp, another fish's scales are black as the darkest
night with the sole exception of two snow-white rings around its eyes.
Apparantly the fish represent yet another of the numerous efforts to transform
the formarly mundane surrounding into a place of beauty.

Danu Circle~
~
A scattering of delicate sea-flowers decorates the brightly colored stone path
you follow, each flower containing soft-looking petals that wave gently in the
inevitable eddies of the currents of water. Each glistening ray of sunshine 
that filters down through the surface of the ocean strikes and highlights the
colors in its path, illuminating the brilliant hues until they virtually glow.
The amount of work put into cultivating the area within the confines of the
village is obvious, several generations must have lent a helping hand in the
gargantuan task of creating this perfect envrionment. Truly the colorful result
is much preferable than the normal monotonus bluish-green that normally 
prevails in deep water. Danu circle continues to your east and winds to the
northwest.

The path winding beneath your feet seems to gently nudge you in the direction
that it wishes you to take as though it is a conscious entity, it certainly
looks almost like a serpent cloaked in all the colors of the rainbow, each
stone having been painted a different color than the ones surrounding it.
Traveling in a temporarily straight line going east and west, Danu Circle
slowly wraps itself around the town, connecting each of the intricate
buildings.

~
Cutting the path around the village into two semi-circles, Cenad Way's beauty
stands out, even in comparison to Danu Circle. Because it is the point from
which the beautification process initially began, painstaking measures were
taken to ensure that every single particle of sand, every plant to be seen,
was placed perfectly. Several of the plants growing along the sides of the
path appear unique unto themselves, each one more unusual than the last, though
all of them appealing to the eye and warming to the soul. Cenad Way continues
to the northwest and connects to Danu Circle to your southeast.

~
A specific detail that your amazed eyes take in as you wander down the dividing
path is the architecture of the three buildings themselves. Constructed 
entirely of sand, the handful of buildings standing within the village 
represent a unique part of the flowering beauty of this section of the ocean
bottom. Because there are only the few buildings to be found in the village,
an impression of confinement, so common within crowded cities, is avoided.
Obviously, without any of the outdoor elements that those who live above the
surface of the ocean seem to almost fear, the citizens of the village prefer
to live outside rather than destroy their hard work by constructing unsightly
structures.

The Village Square~
~
The epicenter of the sprawling cultivation, the village square draws your eyes
as nothing else ever could; you feel as though you will never again be content
to see anything but the chaotic beauty surrounding you. No matter how dazzling
you thought Danu Circle and Cenad Way appeared, the village square takes your
definition of beauty to a whole new meaning. Sheltered within a light screen
of exotic plants that grow taller and more fully than any other plant within
your memory, the jumbled swirls and bright prominant streaks of colors coupled
with shapes seem to move constantly, showering the square with the light of
of a million complimentary hues, each one distorted by the scintilating 
sunlight. Flitting freely through the gently swaying branches, the ever-present
fish add life to the pictoresque scene before you.

Cenad way~
~
As you stroll along the tranquil path, your wandering eyes drink in all the
bizarre details of life beneath the water. Though there are a fair number of
villagers wandering aimlessly around Danu Circle, the vast majority of the
citizens can be found outside of the Circle, each person busying himself with a
variety of odd items, the tools used to cultivate the bottom of the ocean and
hasten the beautification process. Carefree children swim in groups or alone,
chasing each other in addition to the almost-tame fish and amusing themselves

Completely astounded by the sighs within the deceptively tiny village, you find
that your attention has been completely diverted from the enormous mound of 
sand that lies roughly to your south. You find it difficult to believe that
anything could surpass the beauty surrounding you; it must have consumed the
entire attention of generations upon generations to create the haven you have
seen and not even the most ornate palace could ever hope to compare, yet the
palace offers a certain amount of intrigue. Perhaps the palace, though maybe
not as gorgeous as the village, might answer some of your unasked questions
about this underwater culture. Cenad Way continues to your southeast and runs
into Danu Circle to your northwest.

A meandering path~

As you look around yourself you begin to fully appreciate the beauty 
surrounding you. The water that surrounds you tints everything you see a light
greenish-blue, but the sunlight that enters from the surface of the ocean adds
a soft glow to everything, making even the smallest details stand out to your
eyes. The sand that coats the bottom of the ocean sparkles randomly in the pale
sunlight that reaches so far down; it seems as though you are walking on a
glistening field of snow rather than the depths of a ocean. As you follow the
path slowly, your eyes continue to take in the multitude of new and amazing
sights.

Approaching a forest of weeds~
~
Not even the wonders that you have seen below the surface of the water thus far
could prepare you for your first close glimpse of the forest of seaweed that
towers now before you. Although your first impression of the huge stalks was
that they formed a solid wall, you can see now that there are several large
gaps between the plants that are not readily visible because of the plants that
grow behind the initial line of seaweed. A myriad of fish, some tiny and some
larger than you swim between the stalks of seaweed, each more different and
breathtaking than the last, but all unlike anything you have ever seen before.
Your feet begin to take on a quicker pace, as though the forest draws you into
it...

As you push your way through the weeds that bar your way, you find yourself
surrounded by towering plants, each of them reaching up high enough to touch
the surface that seems to be miles above your own head. As you pick your way
among the plants that seem to sprout everywhere, you notice that the way seems
a bit more clear to the east, though the forest gets even more dense to the 
west and south.

A sandy plain~
~
The forest of seaweed that towers to the west abruptly ends, cutting a straight
line a fair distance to the south over the flat land surrounding you. All 
around you the land stretches without hill or plant, save the forest to your
west and a sheer cliff to the distant south. The sand itself that lies beneath
your feet is so fine in texture that firm footing is nearly impossible; in
fact, you find yourself slowly sinking into the sand as you stand in one place
too long. Half-burried within the sand lie a myriad of seashells and the 
occasional skeleton of a long-dead fish. The only thing to do is probably to
continue moving...

A sandy plain~
~
All around you lie endless dunes of sand, almost as though you stand in the
middle of an underwater desert. To the west the sand seems to abruptly become
a tall, impenetratable wall of green while to the south the field continues
on until it slowly melts into a rocky area with stones that appear from this
distance to be many times larger than you. The sand beneath your feet is 
gritty and extremely difficult to walk thorough because it continuously shifts
beneath your feet, even as you stand still, causing you to trip often. As you
turn to look to your east, you recieve a sharp poke from the trident of your
ever-present merguard; apparantly that way is forbidden to outsiders...

The sand on which you tread carefully crunches audibly beneath your feet when
even the tiniest amount of pressure is applied to the gravely sand. Sounding
almost like glass grinding against glass, the sound grates in your ears,
causing you to cringe as you try to find the fastest way out of the patch of
sand. Your searching eyes unwittingly take in your surroundings and you see
several short, scrubby, sickly plants as they attempt to find life sustaining
nutrience within the inhospitable sand. To your south the sand becomes a 
scattering of solid rocks; to the north and west lie more sand...

A skull of a long-dead animal meets your gaze as your eyes travel over this
hard-packed section of sand. The sand beneath your feet feels as though you
are walking on rocks; the only difference between the ground you stand on and
the rocks that you can see sprouting from the ground just south of you is the
distinctive coloring, unlike the pale grey that usually charactorizes a rock.
To your west you can see nothing but the solid wall of green seaweed that
seperates the sandy plain you stand on from the forest of weeds.

Though the weeds here are more dense than the ones that you initially 
encountered upon entering this forest of giant seaweed, it is still apparant
that they thin quickly to the east and south. However, the areas to your north
and west are still covered thickly. Wherever you turn thick, slimy leaves and
stalks brush against your face, leaving a slimy trail that lingers despite the
water surrounding you. The places not already claimed by a piece of seaweed are
occupied by the fish that seem to thrive in this area of the ocean...

Fortunately, the weeds have thinned out enough here to allow much easier 
movement on your part. All around you grow towering seaweed plants in a variety
of different colors, from red to yellow to light green to the deepest violet.
The sand that crunches softly beneath your feet doesn't seem like a very good
place for such enormous plants to grow, for it shifts with even the softest
touch, it is very fine. To your south you can see that the forest of weeds 
seems to thin out quite a bit, though to the north the foliage seems to grow
even more thickly. The east and the west the plants seem to grow about as
thickly as those surrounding you.

Once again the sunlight can shine through the weeds, albeit very faintly, and
the foliage seems to be a bit lighter here. The multitude of fish are back,
swimming and flitting about as though they haven't a care in the world, though
some of them are large enough to be threatening should they attack you or if
you decide to attack them. You look at the sand beneath your feet and see that
life abounds even there, you will have to be more careful where you step from
now on. Half buried in the sand are clams and oysters, along with several 
other creatures you can't put a name to. Perhaps some of them could be 
useful sometime...

Surrounding you is a field of rocks, some tiny pebbles and others larger than
you. It would be wise for you to watch your step as you pick your way through
this field as many of the rocks strewn here are jagged; they could easily
skewer you should you take a misstep and have the misfortune to land on one of
the sharp points. Some of the pebbles, however, look rather interesting; maybe
a few of them might be worth your while to pick up...

To both your left and right runs a narrow strip of rocky debris that abruptly
ends a hundred paces to the south and as many to the north. To the south you
see a sheer cliff a thousand paces or more in height that towers well above the
surface of the ocean while to your north lies a forest of seaweed. All around
you are rocks that looks as though strewn by the hand of a giant, some tiny and
others enourmous...

The rocks surrounding you seem to be smaller than the enourmous ones to your
left and right, though they are still large in comparison to you. In direct
contrast to the semi-smooth edges of the rocks to your left and right however,
every rock within touching distance ends jaggedly, with either razor sharp 
sides or a wicked point that would certainly pierce through even a dragon's
hide with even the slightest pressure. Be sure to step carefully to avoid these
dangerous rocks!

A field of rocks ~

&CTo your left and right lie a myriad of rocks, big and small, bright and 
dull, sharp and smooth. However, there is a uniformity to this area that 
is a bit odd; no rock is next to another like it. For example, a smooth 
rock would not be found next to another smooth rock and so on. To your 
north lies the outside corner of an extraordinarily dense forest of 
underwater plants. To the east and west the strip of rocks continues, 
while your passage to the south is blocked permanently by a sheer rocky 
cliff that towers above the water.

To your left is a fairly straight strip of rocky ground, perhaps twenty paces
wide and a hundred paces long. Between the rocks lies very fine sand, so thin
in fact, that it makes solid footing on the rocks nearly impossible to find;
this area is not for the weak-hearted or those who have anything but perfect
balance. To your south rises a sheer cliff that wraps around to cut off your
way to the east as well; the cliff towers high above the surface of the ocean,
traveling nearly vertically from the point where it juts out from the ground.

Though you hadn't previously thought it possible, the plants surround you even
more closely than before, barely leaving you room to move, let alone find a
path between the stalks, though you can still make your way to the west if you
should wish. The fish, which had previously avoided you as they swim through
the stalks, now bump into you occasionally as they attempt to go about their
business, whatever that may be. All around you the forest seems to be closing
in slowly...

So dense is the growth here that it is nearly impossible to move; the stalks
of seaweed growing to the west are so close together, in fact, that the only
visible breaks in the folliage are only wide enough for the tiniest of the
fish that still mill around you to fit through. Fortunately, the way to the
south seems to be just clear enough that you can make your way in that 
direction if you should chose to. Not even the sunlight can filter in through
the weeds, leaving this area of the forest a dark, solemn place.
