In sweaty areas various minor salts can quickly become depleted. The
result is lethargy, and either insomnia or excessive somnia. (I used
to lve in Australia and Florida -- saw this a lot). The standard
remedy is to eat "cell salts" as available from most health food
stores. Most learned quickly to carry a small supply in their pocket
for when they felt the onset.
NB Gatoraide etc are largely the same stuff in dissolved form.
The other biggies are the pottassium and sodium salts. Eat bananas
for the potassium (also most cell salt tablets are high in pottassium)
and sea salt for the rest (don't use straight NaCl as you lose the
iodine and other minor salts).
