Its >using scale as the criteria that I don't see as workable. hmm. I've been thinking about this quite a bit and I have changed my tune. well, modified it a bit. I agree that the scale of the being in question is probably a faulty way of dividing neighborhoods. Might it be better to divide into neighborhoods based on the scale of the beings perception? For example, I am controlling a mouse. As a _normal_ mouse I have fairly limited sight (say 4 feet to be arbitrary). Now, manfred the magician comes along and straps some mouse-sized goggles of farsight onto my peepers and suddenly I can see 40 feet. As a result of the change in the scale of my perception, I should be shifted into a different neighborhood that recieves messages for beings with similar scale perceptive prowes. Add this to the dividing by physical location and I think it adds quite a bit to the model. thoughts? -Greg </PRE> <!--X-Body-of-Message-End--> <!--X-MsgBody-End--> <!--X-Follow-Ups--> <HR> <!--X-Follow-Ups-End--> <!--X-References--> <!--X-References-End--> <!--X-BotPNI--> <UL> <LI>Prev by Date: <STRONG><A HREF="msg01434.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Supporting RP+PG</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Next by Date: <STRONG><A HREF="msg01436.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] RP=MUSH/PG=MUD</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Prev by thread: <STRONG><A HREF="msg01628.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Supporting RP+PG</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Next by thread: <STRONG><A HREF="msg01433.html">The Difference between..</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Index(es): <UL> <LI><A HREF="index.html#01435"><STRONG>Date</STRONG></A></LI> <LI><A HREF="thread.html#01435"><STRONG>Thread</STRONG></A></LI> </UL> </LI> </UL> <!--X-BotPNI-End--> <!--X-User-Footer--> <!--X-User-Footer-End--> <ul><li>Thread context: <BLOCKQUOTE><UL> <LI><strong><A NAME="01449" HREF="msg01449.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Supporting RP+PG</A></strong>, Huibai <a href="mailto:ashen#pixi,com">ashen#pixi,com</a>, Mon 23 Jun 1997, 12:15 GMT <UL> <LI><strong><A NAME="01455" HREF="msg01455.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Supporting RP+PG</A></strong>, Matt Chatterley <a href="mailto:root#mpc,dyn.ml.org">root#mpc,dyn.ml.org</a>, Mon 23 Jun 1997, 22:23 GMT </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="01617" HREF="msg01617.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Supporting RP+PG</A></strong>, clawrenc <a href="mailto:clawrenc#cup,hp.com">clawrenc#cup,hp.com</a>, Tue 01 Jul 1997, 05:59 GMT </LI> </UL> <UL> <li><Possible follow-up(s)><br> <LI><strong><A NAME="01628" HREF="msg01628.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Supporting RP+PG</A></strong>, Huibai <a href="mailto:ashen#pixi,com">ashen#pixi,com</a>, Tue 01 Jul 1997, 11:25 GMT </LI> </UL> </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="01435" HREF="msg01435.html">Neighborhoods (was room-based v coord-based)</A></strong>, S001GMU <a href="mailto:S001GMU#nova,wright.edu">S001GMU#nova,wright.edu</a>, Mon 23 Jun 1997, 05:38 GMT <LI><strong><A NAME="01433" HREF="msg01433.html">The Difference between..</A></strong>, Jeff Kesselman <a href="mailto:jeffk#tenetwork,com">jeffk#tenetwork,com</a>, Mon 23 Jun 1997, 02:55 GMT <UL> <LI><strong><A NAME="01442" HREF="msg01442.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] The Difference between..</A></strong>, Adam Wiggins <a href="mailto:nightfall#user1,inficad.com">nightfall#user1,inficad.com</a>, Mon 23 Jun 1997, 10:37 GMT <UL> <LI><strong><A NAME="01446" HREF="msg01446.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] The Difference between..</A></strong>, Jeff Kesselman <a href="mailto:jeffk#tenetwork,com">jeffk#tenetwork,com</a>, Mon 23 Jun 1997, 11:49 GMT </LI> </UL> </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="01611" HREF="msg01611.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] The Difference between..</A></strong>, clawrenc <a href="mailto:clawrenc#cup,hp.com">clawrenc#cup,hp.com</a>, Tue 01 Jul 1997, 03:58 GMT </LI> </UL> </LI> </UL></BLOCKQUOTE> </ul> <hr> <center> [ <a href="../">Other Periods</a> | <a href="../../">Other mailing lists</a> | <a href="/search.php3">Search</a> ] </center> <hr> </body> </html>
