Also, having (just now) :looked at the FSF web site, I have found that gcc is now on version 2.8; I :have 2.7.2. Does anyone know what/if improvements were made to the :compiler's handling of the 3 C++ features specified above? Let's hope my :comments don't still apply. A friend of mine who uses g++ on Linux recently upgraded to 2.8. He says it is the first version to even compile all of his programs. So, based on that small sample, it seems to be a signficant improvement. -- Chris Gray cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA </PRE> <!--X-Body-of-Message-End--> <!--X-MsgBody-End--> <!--X-Follow-Ups--> <HR> <!--X-Follow-Ups-End--> <!--X-References--> <!--X-References-End--> <!--X-BotPNI--> <UL> <LI>Prev by Date: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00445.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Source Code Release</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Next by Date: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00447.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Source Code Release</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Prev by thread: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00449.html">META: OS wars</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Next by thread: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00435.html">user-centered design (was Re: [MUD-Dev] Clients)</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Index(es): <UL> <LI><A HREF="index.html#00446"><STRONG>Date</STRONG></A></LI> <LI><A HREF="thread.html#00446"><STRONG>Thread</STRONG></A></LI> </UL> </LI> </UL> <!--X-BotPNI-End--> <!--X-User-Footer--> <!--X-User-Footer-End--> <ul><li>Thread context: <BLOCKQUOTE><UL> <LI><STRONG>Re: [MUD-Dev] 3D graphics (Was: The impact of the web on muds)</STRONG>, <EM>(continued)</EM> <ul compact> <LI><strong><A NAME="00496" HREF="msg00496.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] 3D graphics (Was: The impact of the web on muds)</A></strong>, Chris Gray <a href="mailto:cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA">cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA</a>, Mon 16 Feb 1998, 22:16 GMT </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00512" HREF="msg00512.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] 3D graphics (Was: The impact of the web on muds)</A></strong>, Chris Gray <a href="mailto:cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA">cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA</a>, Tue 17 Feb 1998, 12:26 GMT </LI> </ul> </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00451" HREF="msg00451.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] META: OS wars</A></strong>, Mike Sellers <a href="mailto:mike#online-alchemy,com">mike#online-alchemy,com</a>, Fri 13 Feb 1998, 22:39 GMT <LI><strong><A NAME="00449" HREF="msg00449.html">META: OS wars</A></strong>, coder <a href="mailto:coder#ibm,net">coder#ibm,net</a>, Fri 13 Feb 1998, 19:59 GMT <LI><strong><A NAME="00446" HREF="msg00446.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] OT: Linux g++</A></strong>, Chris Gray <a href="mailto:cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA">cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA</a>, Fri 13 Feb 1998, 01:43 GMT <LI><strong><A NAME="00435" HREF="msg00435.html">user-centered design (was Re: [MUD-Dev] Clients)</A></strong>, Mike Sellers <a href="mailto:mike#online-alchemy,com">mike#online-alchemy,com</a>, Thu 12 Feb 1998, 16:40 GMT <LI><strong><A NAME="00433" HREF="msg00433.html">RE: [MUD-Dev] Clients</A></strong>, Koster, Raph <a href="mailto:rkoster#origin,ea.com">rkoster#origin,ea.com</a>, Thu 12 Feb 1998, 15:12 GMT <UL> <li><Possible follow-up(s)><br> <LI><strong><A NAME="00438" HREF="msg00438.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Clients</A></strong>, Mike Sellers <a href="mailto:mike#online-alchemy,com">mike#online-alchemy,com</a>, Thu 12 Feb 1998, 18:42 GMT <UL> <LI><strong><A NAME="00441" HREF="msg00441.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] OT: Clients</A></strong>, Vadim Tkachenko <a href="mailto:vadimt#4cs,com">vadimt#4cs,com</a>, Thu 12 Feb 1998, 20:57 GMT </LI> </UL> </LI> </UL> </LI> </UL></BLOCKQUOTE> </ul> <hr> <center> [ <a href="../">Other Periods</a> | <a href="../../">Other mailing lists</a> | <a href="/search.php3">Search</a> ] </center> <hr> </body> </html>
