Actually, the 'business logic' is a very loose concept and can contain any type of logic you want to call 'business'. See, this project used to support, in turn: - (attempt) Fidonet-compatible mailer (Windows 3.11, 1992); - Electronic fund transfer system (Windows 3.11, 1993); - Corporate activity tracking database (OS/2, 1994-5); - Securities trading system (Java, 1996); - MUD server sceleton (Java, 1996-7) So there _was_ a possibility to cut the lowest common denominator from all those systems, and there goes Jukebox. The exact place is - a wrapper which carries out all life support and plumbing, so to say. > Jo -- Still alive and smile stays on, Vadim Tkachenko <vt#freehold,crocodile.org> -- UNIX _is_ user friendly, he's just very picky about who his friends are </PRE> <!--X-Body-of-Message-End--> <!--X-MsgBody-End--> <!--X-Follow-Ups--> <HR> <!--X-Follow-Ups-End--> <!--X-References--> <UL><LI><STRONG>References</STRONG>: <UL> <LI><STRONG><A NAME="00841" HREF="msg00841.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Jukebox</A></STRONG> <UL><LI><EM>From:</EM> Joel Dillon <emily#cornholio,new.ox.ac.uk></LI></UL></LI> </UL></LI></UL> <!--X-References-End--> <!--X-BotPNI--> <UL> <LI>Prev by Date: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00866.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] 3D engines for MUDs</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Next by Date: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00868.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Jukebox</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Prev by thread: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00863.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Jukebox</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Next by thread: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00854.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Jukebox</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Index(es): <UL> <LI><A HREF="index.html#00867"><STRONG>Date</STRONG></A></LI> <LI><A HREF="thread.html#00867"><STRONG>Thread</STRONG></A></LI> </UL> </LI> </UL> <!--X-BotPNI-End--> <!--X-User-Footer--> <!--X-User-Footer-End--> <ul><li>Thread context: <BLOCKQUOTE><UL> <LI><STRONG>Re: [MUD-Dev] World Persistence, flat files v/s DB v/s ??</STRONG>, <EM>(continued)</EM> <ul compact> <LI><strong><A NAME="00903" HREF="msg00903.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] World Persistence, flat files v/s DB v/s ??</A></strong>, Chris Gray <a href="mailto:cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA">cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA</a>, Thu 26 Mar 1998, 09:36 GMT </LI> </ul> </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00821" HREF="msg00821.html">Jukebox</A></strong>, Vadim Tkachenko <a href="mailto:vt#freehold,crocodile.org">vt#freehold,crocodile.org</a>, Sun 22 Mar 1998, 18:55 GMT <UL> <LI><strong><A NAME="00841" HREF="msg00841.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Jukebox</A></strong>, Joel Dillon <a href="mailto:emily#cornholio,new.ox.ac.uk">emily#cornholio,new.ox.ac.uk</a>, Mon 23 Mar 1998, 14:06 GMT <UL> <LI><strong><A NAME="00863" HREF="msg00863.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Jukebox</A></strong>, J C Lawrence <a href="mailto:claw#under,engr.sgi.com">claw#under,engr.sgi.com</a>, Mon 23 Mar 1998, 21:40 GMT </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00867" HREF="msg00867.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Jukebox</A></strong>, Vadim Tkachenko <a href="mailto:vt#freehold,crocodile.org">vt#freehold,crocodile.org</a>, Tue 24 Mar 1998, 02:52 GMT </LI> </UL> </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00854" HREF="msg00854.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Jukebox</A></strong>, J C Lawrence <a href="mailto:claw#under,engr.sgi.com">claw#under,engr.sgi.com</a>, Mon 23 Mar 1998, 20:34 GMT <UL> <LI><strong><A NAME="00868" HREF="msg00868.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Jukebox</A></strong>, Vadim Tkachenko <a href="mailto:vt#freehold,crocodile.org">vt#freehold,crocodile.org</a>, Tue 24 Mar 1998, 03:25 GMT </LI> </UL> </LI> </UL> </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00819" HREF="msg00819.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] World Persistence, flat files v/s DB v/s ??</A></strong>, Chris Gray <a href="mailto:cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA">cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA</a>, Sun 22 Mar 1998, 18:21 GMT <UL> <LI><strong><A NAME="00822" HREF="msg00822.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] World Persistence, flat files v/s DB v/s ??</A></strong>, Greg Munt <a href="mailto:greg#uni-corn,demon.co.uk">greg#uni-corn,demon.co.uk</a>, Sun 22 Mar 1998, 19:02 GMT </LI> </UL> </LI> </UL></BLOCKQUOTE> </ul> <hr> <center> [ <a href="../">Other Periods</a> | <a href="../../">Other mailing lists</a> | <a href="/search.php3">Search</a> ] </center> <hr> </body> </html>
