Higher Immortals of at least Admin-rank, are able to certify lower immortals for their work, and this certification needs to be approved by another Admin. In theory, this should result in a list of who did what. However there have been some obstacles as of now: - we couldn't take past work into consideration as their is no reliable way to recall everything an immortal did. - some admin simply 'forget' to certify lower level immortals who worked for same...be it because they are currently too busy, or be it because they simply forgot to do so. The later reason is probably due to the fact, that the certification system is still somewhat new. An entry of it looks something like this: | 999H 456M 816V > show certifications owner christian Certifications owned by christian Nr. Name God1 God2 Time Reason ---------------------------------------------------------------- 1 Christian Highlander Criscal Fri Jan 23 Coding of the certification-system [..] This is the short or technical info of a certificate. Additionally to the technical info, the god who issues the certification has to write a little laudatio. The laudatio is a little text that will tell in 'great words' what the lower immortal achieved. A special item type 'CERTIFICATION' is then 'bound' to the laudatio and can then be kept as trophy (your lollipop :) ) by the lower immortal. Again, in theory this might be great, but it still lacks the broad acceptance by the admin-rank immortals, who still don't use it as they e.g. use the 'poofin' (or whatever) command. - Chris -- /----------------------------------------------------------------------------\ | Christian Loth, chris#rom, mud.de | REALM OF MAGIC | | http://rom.mud.de/~chris | telnet rom.mud.de 4000 | | | http://rom.mud.de/ | \----------------------------------------------------------------------------/

Follow-Ups:

[MUD-Dev] Re: A little help

From: Marc Bowden <ryumo#merit,edu>

References:

[MUD-Dev] Re: A little help

From: Hans-Henrik Staerfeldt <hhs#cbs,dtu.dk>

Prev by Date: [MUD-Dev] Re: Room descriptions

Next by Date: [MUD-Dev] Simulation (Was Re: Room descriptions)

Prev by thread: [MUD-Dev] Re: A little help

Next by thread: [MUD-Dev] Re: A little help

Index(es):

Date

Thread

Thread context:

[MUD-Dev] Re: A little help, (continued)

[MUD-Dev] Re: A little help, Ling K.L.Lo-94#student,lboro.ac.uk, Tue 29 Sep 1998, 15:02 GMT

[MUD-Dev] Re: A little help, Richard Woolcock KaVir#dial,pipex.com, Tue 29 Sep 1998, 18:05 GMT

[MUD-Dev] Re: A little help, Michael.Willey Michael.Willey#abnamro,com, Tue 29 Sep 1998, 17:06 GMT

[MUD-Dev] Re: A little help, Hans-Henrik Staerfeldt hhs#cbs,dtu.dk, Tue 29 Sep 1998, 18:08 GMT

[MUD-Dev] Re: A little help, chris chris#realm,zfn.uni-bremen.de, Tue 29 Sep 1998, 19:11 GMT

[MUD-Dev] Re: A little help, Marc Bowden ryumo#merit,edu, Tue 29 Sep 1998, 20:12 GMT

[MUD-Dev] Re: A little help, T.
