Hmm right. In some senses I just meant that reading LotR made me
think of how neat their adventuring was. It was scary but important. It
was a group effort. Reading the wheel of time tends to do the same thing
(but now the characters seem a bit too powerful).
It does not seem that anyone really is LotR but more LotR
influenced. And even in that they squish it fairly good. There are
_very_ few wizards, dwarves and elves do not get along (although some more
or less than others) etc. Additionally there are things that wizards find
impossible or very hard to fight (Caradhras,a Balrog) and the best
men/elves find hard to fight (Orcs).
I am just starting to reread the second and do not remember
anything from the 2,3 from last time I read them.
People should not kill dragons unless the dragon has a known
weakness AND the player is lucky AND in the right place at the right time.
Or in other words very infrequently.
