Creators who don't have that experience - or even worse, Administrators - tend to come up with unplayable areas or games because they don't know what makes up a reasonable set of goals, or the expectations of the guests. They're technically brilliant - all shiny and neat and can be hauled out and bragged about - but they're not playable. _______________________________________________ MUD-Dev maillist - MUD-Dev#kanga,nu <A HREF="http://www.kanga.nu/lists/listinfo/mud-dev">http://www.kanga.nu/lists/listinfo/mud-dev</A> </PRE> <!--X-Body-of-Message-End--> <!--X-MsgBody-End--> <!--X-Follow-Ups--> <HR> <!--X-Follow-Ups-End--> <!--X-References--> <UL><LI><STRONG>References</STRONG>: <UL> <LI><STRONG><A NAME="00673" HREF="msg00673.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Gender and Mud Development (back on topic, some)</A></STRONG> <UL><LI><EM>From:</EM> claw#kanga,nu</LI></UL></LI> </UL></LI></UL> <!--X-References-End--> <!--X-BotPNI--> <UL> <LI>Prev by Date: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00687.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Game construction and a big mistake</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Next by Date: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00689.html">RE: [MUD-Dev] Game Economies</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Prev by thread: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00673.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Gender and Mud Development (back on topic, some)</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Next by thread: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00678.html">RE: [MUD-Dev] Goals and directions (was the gender thing)</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Index(es): <UL> <LI><A HREF="index.html#00688"><STRONG>Date</STRONG></A></LI> <LI><A HREF="thread.html#00688"><STRONG>Thread</STRONG></A></LI> </UL> </LI> </UL> <!--X-BotPNI-End--> <!--X-User-Footer--> <!--X-User-Footer-End--> <ul><li>Thread context: <BLOCKQUOTE><UL> <LI><strong><A NAME="00639" HREF="msg00639.html">RE: [MUD-Dev] Gender and Mud Development (back on topic, some)</A></strong>, Koster, Raph <a href="mailto:rkoster#origin,ea.com">rkoster#origin,ea.com</a>, Wed 09 Jun 1999, 21:13 GMT <UL> <LI><strong><A NAME="00644" HREF="msg00644.html">[MUD-Dev] Tactical Combat and Traps (was the gender thread)</A></strong>, Katrina McClelan <a href="mailto:kitkat#marcus,pants.nu">kitkat#marcus,pants.nu</a>, Wed 09 Jun 1999, 22:36 GMT </LI> </UL> <UL> <li><Possible follow-up(s)><br> <LI><strong><A NAME="00666" HREF="msg00666.html">RE: [MUD-Dev] Gender and Mud Development (back on topic, some)</A></strong>, Koster, Raph <a href="mailto:rkoster#origin,ea.com">rkoster#origin,ea.com</a>, Thu 10 Jun 1999, 03:44 GMT <UL> <LI><strong><A NAME="00673" HREF="msg00673.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Gender and Mud Development (back on topic, some)</A></strong>, claw <a href="mailto:claw#kanga,nu">claw#kanga,nu</a>, Thu 10 Jun 1999, 04:59 GMT <UL> <LI><strong><A NAME="00688" HREF="msg00688.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Gender and Mud Development (back on topic, some)</A></strong>, Marc Bowden <a href="mailto:ryumo#merit,edu">ryumo#merit,edu</a>, Thu 10 Jun 1999, 12:03 GMT </LI> </UL> </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00678" HREF="msg00678.html">RE: [MUD-Dev] Goals and directions (was the gender thing)</A></strong>, Caliban Tiresias Darklock <a href="mailto:caliban#darklock,com">caliban#darklock,com</a>, Thu 10 Jun 1999, 05:54 GMT </LI> </UL> </LI> </UL> </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00632" HREF="msg00632.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Games within Games [Was: Gender and Mud Development]</A></strong>, Kristen Koster <a href="mailto:koster#eden,com">koster#eden,com</a>, Wed 09 Jun 1999, 18:06 GMT <UL> <LI><strong><A NAME="00649" HREF="msg00649.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Games within Games [Was: Gender and Mud Development]</A></strong>, Greg Miller <a href="mailto:gmiller#classic-games,com">gmiller#classic-games,com</a>, Wed 09 Jun 1999, 23:28 GMT </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00744" HREF="msg00744.html">Re: [MUD-Dev] Games within Games [Was: Gender and Mud Development]</A></strong>, Jon A.
