The first format, alias on a line by itself, will show all your currently defined aliases in a nice formated output. The second format alias with a name after it will show you what you have defined name to be be. The third format, alias with part of a name after it will show all your currently defined aliases that start with the text given. The fourth format, alias <name> <definition> will set name to the definition you have passed to it. The fifth format, alias sorted, will print an alphabetically sorted list of the current aliases you have. There is a special alias that is called on login, called 'login'. If you alias this to something it will be run as soon as you login. The plan and project information for finger is done inside the alias command. These are the aliases .plan and .project, and can be up to five lines long. Refers use the alias .reference and can be up to 20 lines long. If you want a signature appended to your mails and posts to boards, create an alias of .signature. .EP .SH Special aliases .SP 5 5 There are a few aliases that have special meanings in the mud. The first one is '.project' and '.plan'. There aliases are for use in the finger command. The alias 'login' is called when you first login, you can use this to setup anything specific you want done when you login. .EP .SI 5 %^BOLD%^unalias%^RESET%^ <name> .EI .SP 7 5 Unalias is used to delete aliases from your list. unalias <name> will delete the alias of the given name. .EP .SH Format of the definition string. .SP 5 5 The rest of the command line is automagicly appended to the end of the last line in your alias file.
