Very possibly... I've seen a few muds where there is some limited integration of webserver into the mud, providing a few things such as "who" lists and message reading. Not sure how usable it would be though, how does it work? I have now. I don't think it's a goer because (as far as I know) NNTP would not enable the mud to identify a connection as being a particular player. I don't want non-players to be able to read or post messages, hence accessing the boards through the web would require the character name & password to confirm identity. I don't think that's possible with NNTP. -- Scatter ///\oo/\\\ </PRE> <!--X-Body-of-Message-End--> <!--X-MsgBody-End--> <!--X-Follow-Ups--> <HR> <ul compact><li><strong>Follow-Ups</strong>: <ul> <li><strong><A NAME="01161" HREF="msg01161.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: mud websites</A></strong> <ul compact><li><em>From:</em> J C Lawrence <claw#under,engr.sgi.com></li></ul> <li><strong><A NAME="00960" HREF="msg00960.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: mud websites</A></strong> <ul compact><li><em>From:</em> Oliver Jowett <oliver#jowett,manawatu.planet.co.nz></li></ul> </UL></LI></UL> <!--X-Follow-Ups-End--> <!--X-References--> <!--X-References-End--> <!--X-BotPNI--> <UL> <LI>Prev by Date: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00958.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: The lessons of Habitat's Dr Death repeated?</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Next by Date: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00960.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: mud websites</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Prev by thread: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00966.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: Mud websites</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Next by thread: <STRONG><A HREF="msg00960.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: mud websites</A></STRONG> </LI> <LI>Index(es): <UL> <LI><A HREF="index.html#00959"><STRONG>Date</STRONG></A></LI> <LI><A HREF="thread.html#00959"><STRONG>Thread</STRONG></A></LI> </UL> </LI> </UL> <!--X-BotPNI-End--> <!--X-User-Footer--> <!--X-User-Footer-End--> <ul><li>Thread context: <BLOCKQUOTE><UL> <LI><STRONG>[MUD-Dev] Re: mud websites</STRONG>, <EM>(continued)</EM> <ul compact> <ul compact> <LI><strong><A NAME="00956" HREF="msg00956.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: mud websites</A></strong>, Oliver Jowett <a href="mailto:oliver#jowett,manawatu.planet.co.nz">oliver#jowett,manawatu.planet.co.nz</a>, Thu 11 Jun 1998, 02:33 GMT </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="01151" HREF="msg01151.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: mud websites</A></strong>, J C Lawrence <a href="mailto:claw#under,engr.sgi.com">claw#under,engr.sgi.com</a>, Sat 20 Jun 1998, 02:13 GMT </LI> </ul> <LI><strong><A NAME="00954" HREF="msg00954.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: Mud websites</A></strong>, John Bertoglio <a href="mailto:alexb#internetcds,com">alexb#internetcds,com</a>, Thu 11 Jun 1998, 00:21 GMT <UL> <LI><strong><A NAME="00966" HREF="msg00966.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: Mud websites</A></strong>, Adam Wiggins <a href="mailto:adam#angel,com">adam#angel,com</a>, Thu 11 Jun 1998, 17:23 GMT </LI> </UL> </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00959" HREF="msg00959.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: mud websites</A></strong>, Scatter <a href="mailto:scatter#thevortex,com">scatter#thevortex,com</a>, Thu 11 Jun 1998, 11:16 GMT <UL> <LI><strong><A NAME="00960" HREF="msg00960.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: mud websites</A></strong>, Oliver Jowett <a href="mailto:oliver#jowett,manawatu.planet.co.nz">oliver#jowett,manawatu.planet.co.nz</a>, Thu 11 Jun 1998, 13:55 GMT </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="01161" HREF="msg01161.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: mud websites</A></strong>, J C Lawrence <a href="mailto:claw#under,engr.sgi.com">claw#under,engr.sgi.com</a>, Mon 22 Jun 1998, 22:16 GMT <UL> <LI><strong><A NAME="01175" HREF="msg01175.html">[MUD-Dev] WWW/INN/news systems (Was: Re: mud websites)</A></strong>, Petri Virkkula <a href="mailto:pvirkkul#cc,hut.fi">pvirkkul#cc,hut.fi</a>, Tue 23 Jun 1998, 06:58 GMT </LI> </UL> </LI> </UL> </LI> <LI><strong><A NAME="00992" HREF="msg00992.html">[MUD-Dev] Re: Mud websites</A></strong>, Chris Gray <a href="mailto:cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA">cg#ami-cg,GraySage.Edmonton.AB.CA</a>, Fri 12 Jun 1998, 14:12 GMT </LI> </ul> </LI> </UL></BLOCKQUOTE> </ul> <hr> <center> [ <a href="../">Other Periods</a> | <a href="../../">Other mailing lists</a> | <a href="/search.php3">Search</a> ] </center> <hr> </body> </html>
